dog fungus

Any homeopathic vets out there who can suggest a remedy for paw fungus on my
dog. It's hard and knobby, and she's worrying away at it-- must be very
itchy. Bathing her paws in bleach was the vet's suggestion, but I'm not so
keen. Thought of petroleum and graphites, but wonder if anyone has any other
suggestions.

Consider bowel nosodes - and other anti-fungal remedies as we might use in humans.
Silica and Thuja are good possibilities

Thanks Liz -- think I'll try some silica. She's a very sweet, sensitive,
passive creature -- not sure about the aggravation from mental exertion
however!!! Too bad humans aren't so easy.

Hopefully I can raise doubt about the notion that dogs are "easy". I
would see this foot fungus as a manifestation of chronic disease,
requiring a case-taking and ongoing management. I doubt you will get
lucky with one acute remedy, and would look for more symptoms in her
body as well as temperament, and maintaining causes with poor diet, use
of vaccines, and other insults like insecticides and wormers. If you
manage to suppress the fungus with one remedy, I believe you'll see
other symptoms arise sooner or later, and they'll be worse.

I have to say I do not agree with you 100% Ginny. I am not saying dogs are easy, but I don't find them particularly difficult. They are not so dissimilar to pre-verbal children - - they have distinct personalities, preferences and modalities. I am sure Beth is well aware of all of these factors in relation to her companion. The only thing I would concur with is that this is unlikely to be a quick fix - no fungal infection is a true acute - we have to consider the terrain in which it has been able to flourish.

Thanks for that Liz. I think the tongue-in-cheek comment I was trying to
make is that silica seems to actually be a suitable constitutional for my
dog, which makes me hopeful that it will not be suppressive, but actually
curative. I have a very healthy dog who has been fed an organic raw diet,
has had minimal vaccinations, and has no other physical symptoms. Aside from
her nature (I'm still unsure of her central delusion!), there's very little
else to go on here. And yes, I agree, it's very much like treating a
neonate.
