newbie with questions- help please

Hello all. I have come to turn to homeopathy when modern meds and
technology have failed.
My 20 month old son has chronic ear infections and already has tubes
in place. the tubes have made things worse for us all. he is very ill
from allergies- all tests come back neg for allergies...... any
thoughts?

also- i have fibromyalgia and lupus ( plus metabolic syndrome X) and i
would love to be off modern meds ( prozac, strattera, glucophage and
sleeping pills.....) i have heard about gymnema extract for the
metabolic syndrome... any suggestions for anything else?

Hi Shelly,
Homeopathy can give you very nice results for the ailments and illnesses you
mention.
However, with chronic health problems and with your significant use of
pharmaceutical drugs, you would be wise to find an experienced classical homeopath.
None of your or your son's ailments are ones you should self-treat.
There are websites that can steer you to good homeopaths. I like to send

Hi Shelly,

Congrats on leaning to homeopathy for your care and that of your child. Obviously, you've requested help with two distinct cases. Your request comes in the form of ice-breakers that would be appropriate were you starting a conversation with our allopathic brethren. However, we need a great deal more detail. So, let's start by soliciting some more (homeopathically) germane information.

You say your son suffers chronic ear infections from allergies, but the allergist has been unable to determine what allergens are causing the infection. Thus, rather than debate the cause, why not very carefully chronicle your child's case paying close attention to the symptoms, any significant modalities, and any notable preferential changes in sleep, diet, moods, etc. While a disease diagnosis has usefulness, it has but limited use in helping find a homeopathic remedy. (The first allergist were homeopaths, and in my humble opinion, the best allergists are still homeopaths).

Now, before we start that, where do you live? I would assume from your style of writing that you're an American. If that's true, where in America do you live? Perhaps this list might provide you with a practitioner you could call upon for yourself and your child. The nature of the illnesses you're discussing (especially the lupus) would be best treated with professional management. I treat a lot of lupus patients and can assure you that there is good reason for optimism under homeopathic care.

After you chronicle your child's case, then it will be time to put down your own case and email it here. I can send you a computerized constitutional test that works for most people. Let me know if you'd like to take it (about 300-400 questions that are answered with cursor clicks). Which came first, the lupus or pancreatic problems? All of the disease history for you, your parents and siblings are important, but the greatest importance is the time line and descriptions of any concomitant emotional or physical trauma. Any explanation from your parents regarding the genetic disposition? Anyway, get started and if we can't help you find a homeopath in your area, perhaps we can help you find your first rounds of treatment protocol.

Hi Susan,

I'll have it on one of our websites before long. It's a test of my own devising across the major categories (Fears, food preferences, general features, personality and temperament) that reveals the most likely constitutional remedy of the most common 14 (Sil, Sep, Arg, Ars, Calc, Graph, Ign, Puls, Phos, Nux, Lyc, Merc, and Nat mur). Kind of a quickie when you're doing a large practice and need all the help you can get to get everyone started. For years I did a lot of online (phone and web-forum prescribing). Had to develop a lot of tools.

Tell me about your practice, maybe I can be of some help. Always glad to hear from friends and neighbors, regardless.
