Canine question

Post by Donna Rona »

I am researching remedies for an elder dog with general symptoms of prostate problems. Using Don Hamilton and H G Wolff as primary references - two possible remedies (Ferrum picricum and Thuja) have a reference to warts. Do warts in dogs manifest on the skin as warts in humans?
I have recently noticed a few hard pin head sized papules with no change in skin color and no texture. They do not resemble the hyperkeratotic papules (human varraca vulgaris) or elongated keratotic papules (human filiform warts) or the flat topped pink papules (associated with verruca plana). They are singular, with two located under one front 'armpit' , one between the shoulder blades, and one on the forehead. The two under the armpit have been there quite some time, but the shoulder and forehead papules have only just been noticed. This is concurrent with the dribbling urine, spreading of legs to urinate, straining, slight weakness in rear legs, occasional incontinence, etc. (There are also additional concurrent factors such as recent extreme weather changes. ) Are these 'warts'? or should I be looking with another term in the rep?

Help with correct terminology and directions for further reading would be greatly appreciated.

Donna
