aggrevation

Post by hovipups »

Hi everyone,

I hope this is not to trivial to ask, but I'm trying to learn.

If you take a remedy and symptoms you're trying to get rid off are
getting worse for a day or so. What does this mean? Does it mean this
is the right remedy but wrong potency? Or does it mean it is the
wrong remedy? Or does it mean neither of those?

I know aggrevation is not supposed to happen, but what does it
mean if it happens?

thanks so much for your input christa

Hi Christa,

It could mean that the dose was too large, or higher than optimal potency
(or can occasionally happen from *lower* than optimal potency). Mild
aggravation isn't a bad thing; some homeopaths like to see at least a slight
aggravation, as a sign that the remedy has indeed "kicked in" and is acting,
but really the main things are that the aggravation isn't too troublesome,
adn that improvement begins afterwards.

Does that help?

Hi Shannon,

thanks for your reply. The aggrevation was really strong though.
But it seems like there was improvement the next day. It will be
interesting if it will continue.

thanks so much christa
