OBESITY

Post by drshiraz »

Hello everybody,
Can anyone comment about the management of obesity with homoeopathic drugs. Whether it is effective. The accessory measures to be taken and if so the most effective therapeutic measures ( ie drugs)

This is not exactly constructive - but it is well worth mentioning. I once
gave a remedy for obesity and the lady lost 2 stone in 48 hours.

Surely based on more than just obese body weight. One would want to
determine the cause (i.e. bulimia (and why), low thyroid, etc.),
correct any organic dysfunctions, and incorporate the obesity into
the rest of the case.

So would it be safe to say that she suffered from water retention?

Yes, of course Dusty. This remedy was given during my early days in
homoeopathy. I had come across an artical by a homoeopath who pointed out
that Nat Mur could be indicated in obesity when there was a history of
pregnancy problems - in this case the problem was Hyperemesis (which is
continual vomitting day and night - she went down to 5 stone) - and
allopathic coctails. When your wife is involved and you are learning and
desperate you try anything - at least I do. To this day I cannot find the
source, at the time it was not important to note the source of information.

You've got it, Cynthia - the fluid flew off her - I recall her making
frequent visits to the toilet.

Dear Dr. Shiraz,

Here are some remedies that I recommended in my book, "Homeopathy in the Curing of Obesity" that might get you started for your patient: It's a small book, so I just copied there from the table of contents. I noticed that some response was on the managing of edema, but there remedies are more likely to be of service in fat loss.

Best wishes,

Tom

Thank you, John, for sharing this. I certainly understand the
willingness to try anything in such a situation. I appreciate your
describing the learning experience, though I feel certain that you
would just as well have done without it :(
