Hi,
Immediate post stroke victims had good prognosis under homoeopathy. As the
condition ages the damage to neurones settles down and will take much time
to reconnect. I had a patient once of 80+ yrs who had two strokes within two
months time and in both times H Rx was given within fifteen minutes and
patient FULLY recovered within twenty four hours! I also had a few other
cases which recovered successfully. Carefully select the remedy from
available symptoms and give probably with the first hand help from a
homoeopath of some experience.
About Thyroid and CM question; YES there is a name for such practice. It is
'Polypharmacy'. I can't understand what is so surprising about it as so many
'homoeopaths(?)' do it all over the world. It will take a whole lot of space
and time to discuss about it in detail, but to make it very short it is a
WRONG practice and definitely not homoeopathy as that of repeating CMs too
frequently for so long.

I knew that it wasn't classical homeopathy, but I figured this person probably actually learned to practice that way in some tradition or other.
Also, I concur with your comments on treating stroke homeopathically -- the sooner after the stroke the better (as with allopathic meds, for that matter). If the person is hospitalized and were a close family member or friend, I'd bring the indicated remedy to the hospital, dissolved in water, and rub it on the patient's lips inconspicuously, as often as seemed possible and indicated.
My sympathy to the person who described that patient -- it sounds as if it must be a very painful situation not only for the patient but also all the friends and family.
