Some facts about AIDS/Africa

Post by Bill Giman »

I am submitting this info in the hope that it will help clarify the dogma of AID/HIV. It is contained in letters I have submitted in response to articles written about the subject.

To whom it may concern:

This letter is in response to the Editorial Article...

I’d like to present some other viewpoints about the “plague” of AIDS, from an article by Gary Null, PhD “AIDS: A second opinion”, published in the Townsend letter, June 2000, and others.

In 1984, the world was told that the HIV was responsible for AIDS. Not everyone accepts the mainstream point of view; since there is a growing number of leading virologists, Nobel Prize winning scientists, doctors, journalists, and other academicians that question HIV’s relationship to the diseases termed AIDS. These dissenters all believe in the need to re-evaluate the HIV=AIDS hypothesis.

A few of these dissenters are: Dr. Peter Duesberg, professor of molecular biology at the UC Berkeley and one of the world’s leading experts on retroviruses; C A Thomas, Jr. PhD., molecular biologist; H Rubin, DVM, & RC Strohman PhD, (both Profs Cell Biology UC Berkeley); G J Edlin PhD., Prof Biochem & Physics U Hawaii; B E Griffin PhD, Dir Dept Virology, Royal Postgrad Med School London UK; R S Root-Bernstein, Prof Physiology, Mich State U, Lansing MI; G Stewart M.D., Emeritas Prof Public Health, Epidemiologist, Isle of Wight, UK; C Sonnenschein M.D., Tufts U Med, Boston MA; N S Lehrman, M.D., Psychiatrist NYC; S Jonas M.D., Prof Preventive Med, SUNY, Stony Brook NY; J A Fisher M.D., Pathologist, Mendham NJ; R Hoffman, PhD, Prof Dept Ped UC San Diego, CA; Eleni Eleopulos, M.D., Royal Perth Hospital, Perth, W Australia; Sunguchuli Ji, PhD, Prof Pharmacology & Toxicology, Rutgers U NJ. There are hundreds more.

In fact, Helene Gayle M.D., head of the CDC in Atlanta GA, stated a few years ago that they have yet to find the HIV virus. Also, Dr. Luc Montagnier, Virologist, co-discoverer of HIV, Institute of Pasteur, Paris, Fr, stated in the Miami Herald, Dec 23, 1999, “There are too many shortcomings in the theory that HIV causes all signs of AIDS”.

Many scientists state that, HIV is not the cause of AIDS because it fails to meet the golden rules of Koch & Henle postulates, as well as the six rules of virology. In order to save space, may I suggest to those that are interested go to the web sites I have listed at the end, for more information.

“The epidemic of AIDS in the U.S.A. has been declining steadily since 1992, but this fact has been concealed by expansion of the definition in 1993. Implementation of the new definition artificially boosted the number of AIDS cases reported in the national AIDS statistics at least 2 - 2.5 times. In 1993, medical status of about 36,000 asymptomatic HIV-positive Americans was changed on purely formal basis - they became “AIDS patients” only because the new definition of AIDS was implemented by the CDC. This formal change of diagnosis coincides in time with conspicuous increase in mortality. This fact is in agreement with the un-orthodox hypothesis that AIDS-specific medication does more harm than good...”, Vladimir L. Koliadin, March 1998.

To quote Dr. Duesberg who provides several arguments against HIV being a sexually-transmitted disease: “HIV is the exception of everything. Here we have a virus that causes disease only after it is neutralized by antibodies. All other viruses do their ugly work before we have a vaccine or we have made our own antibodies; and a virus that only causes a disease 10 years after infection, when all other viruses cause it right after infection when they’re most biochemically active...”

Furthermore, while HIV has been correlated with AIDS, there have been many cases of people with AIDS diseases with no evidence of HIV, noted Dr. Charles Thomas, Jr. of the Helicon Foundation, a not-for-profit AIDS organization.

The average person can plainly see that AIDS does not spread like an infectious disease, for example, in Magic Johnson who was diagnosed as HIV-positive while his wife has tested HIV-negative. There are many AIDS survivors, who opted not to take toxic drugs and survived. In fact, the CDC could not find a single case where one person was infected through another, and this person was infecting a third one. There is no study where this kind of transmission has ever been proven.

While infectious diseases spread throughout the population at large, AIDS remains confined to its original risk groups. Dr. David Rasnick explains, “Infectious diseases don’t know if you’re black, white, male, female, gay, or straight. In reality, AIDS is still in almost 9 out of 10 cases affecting males in the U.S.A. and Europe. About 86% of the latest patients are male; 60% of AIDS patients in the U.S.A. and Europe are gay men, another 1/3 are IV drug users (mainly heterosexual); 1% are pediatric AIDS, 80% of which are, according to the CDC, born to mothers who used drugs during pregnancy.”

Dr. Rasnick further states, AIDS is also unusual in that it mostly strikes 25 to 50 year olds when those most prone to infectious diseases are the very young, and the very old, whose immune systems are the most prone. There’s virtually no AIDS among teenagers, and this group is certainly sexually active. If you had a sexually-transmitted disease, you would find a reasonable fraction of your AIDS patients being teenagers, and they just aren’t there.

The number of AIDS case have actually declined, “we have had absolutely no spread over the past ten years, and when the CDC was contacted and asked if they did blood work on all the AIDS cases, they said no. About 25% of those figured as AIDS were based upon symptoms. I said that there are about 12 other diseases that have the identical symptoms as AIDS, such as Tuberculosis, Malaria, & Cytomegalovirus.”, Neville Hodgkinson.

This is not the first time a disease has been mistaken as infectious: “In the early 20th or late 19th century in the Southern U.S.A., pellagra was thought to be an infectious disease.”

While HIV is reported to be rampant in Africa, its citizens are not dying at high rates from AIDS. About 3 to 5 years ago Time magazine and other news journals were running cover stories about the massive threat to the future of people in Africa posed by HIV and AIDS. However, just a short time ago, Time ran a big cover story on Africa. There wasn’t a single mention of HIV or AIDS in all the 11 or 12 pages of that article. It was about the great future and the new mood of optimism that is present within that continent.

Charles Geshekter, PhD. a professor specializing in African studies has taken 12 research trips to Africa and has organized a conference on “Rethinking AIDS”. Professor Geshekter says that AIDS in Africa is a different set of diseases than it is in North America and Western Europe.
The definition of AIDS in Africa was agreed to at a WHO conference convened in Central African Republic in late 1985. This definition itself is decisively different than the definitions of an AIDS case in North America or Western Europe. That definition is based on 4 clinical symptoms which are very widespread and very common throughout Africa, because it is such an impoverished continent. They are a persistent dry cough, a high fever, loose stools or diarrhea for 30 days, and a 10% loss of body weight over a two month period.

To compare, AIDS in North America is characterized by such things as severe immuno-suppression and characteristic opportunistic infections like Kaposi’s sarcoma and candidiasis, whereas African AIDS is associated with other symptoms like wasting disease. In Africa they have always had wasting disease and malaria. A virus should cause the same disease, and in Africa it clearly doesn’t. They’ve just taken all the old diseases, combined with HIV, and called it AIDS. But a lot of people in Africa just have the same diseases they’ve always had.

Rather than question the assumption that HIV cause AIDS, Dr Rasnick, who has spent 20 years developing protease inhibitors, notes that scientists came up with another explanation, saying that the clever HIV was mutating to inhibit resisting forms. Though speculation has become dogma, Dr. Rasnick says, that mutations in human beings have never been demonstrated in the scientific literature; mutants are only produced in the lab.

AIDS is in fact a disease of life style, and according to Johns Hopkins University Hospital, it's about 25 different diseases lumped together, as one big ailment.

There is much more evidence, however, I have decided to end this letter.
