Response Miasm and Similimum

Dear minutus group,
Related to similimum and miasm recieved response from
Farbod Rehnama and Claudia, I like to say that I
quoted Barahma, Vishnu and Mahesh just as for
corelations of these faith in religious circles in
India related to miasms.We have to understand these
miasms from our own surrounding. No one in this world
carries single miasm. These days we all are mixed
miasmatic individuals. But during our case taking we
have to consider prsent predominent miasmatic state
and should select constitutional accordingly. I like
to share with my minutus collegues some of my
experiences which I got during a workshop organised by
Predictive Homeopathic Group:-
A workshop on Predictive Homoeopathy was held at Hotel
Gautam, Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra, India. Dr.
Prafull Vijayakar, the President of the faculty of
Predictive Homoeopathy was one of the main speakers.
175 delegates from 17 states of India and a few
foreign delegates attended the workshop to get
benefited with the art to find Genetically
Constitutional Similimum. The first session of the
workshop started with Dr. Prafull Vijayakar?s
declaration ?I have not come here to offer you the
fish, but I would like to train you all in good
fishing?, ?I am not interested to show the miraculous
cures here to receive your applause or to bore you
with them. They won?t help you much. A similar case
may not even come to you?. Dr Vijayakar started on his
marathon commitment by saying ?Homoeopathy is
Mathematics and every homoeopath- must arrive at the
same similimum in a given case, provided all have the
same perception.. We can predict what will happen next
- hence the name Predictive Homoeopathy.? Homoeopathy
can help us predict - 1. The nature of a person. 2.
The nature of the disease 3. Aggravation and
ameliorations. 4. Sides, types and location of
injuries. {e.g. Cic. v. has to fall and hurt his head.
Lach will injure the left side and Lyco the right
side!} Hence the rightness of a similimum. He said
that homoeopaths are confused over the question as to
follow whom, should they follow totality of physicals,
totality of mentals, Sehgal?s system, Rajan Sankaran's
thought etc. etc.? In reply he said that every system
has to offer something, but we must see that are we
prescribing for the patient as a whole or the disease
only. When our prescription is based on the patient as
a whole only then cure will follow. Removal of
symptoms is not necessarily the cure. ALL THAT
GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD. ALL THAT DISAPPEARS IS NOT CURE.
Follow up tells us whether the disease is worsening or
improving. Then what is Cure? The follow up is not
only removal of symptoms, but it must show:- 1.
Hering?s Law of Cure 2. Compensatory Cure 3.
Disappearance of a life threatening disease. Dr
Vijayakar laid stress on the Hering?s Law and adds to
it by saying that cure takes place ?From more
destructive miasm to less destructive miasm? If cure
was possible in every case then we could make man
immortal! That is bringing all to the first layer -
Psoric miasm. BUT - Man is born to die. Only the way
he dies is different. It depends on his basic genetic
characteristics and a lot of circumstantial
influences. While explaining Hering? Law of Cure in
detail, Dr. Vijayakar said, ?Cure must take place in
the following manner: a) From above downwards, b) From
Centre to periphery, c) From inside out, d) From more
important to less important organs, e) In reverse
order of appearance and f) From more destructive Miasm
to less destructive Miasm. He concluded that to
understand a follow up one should have a thorough
knowledge of Man. A thorough knowledge of Man is never
complete without research works which provide us with
newer and newer information of interior of a man.
Hence re-orientation is a must. Therefore, we must
adapt homoeopathy to modern sciences. It will remove
uncertainty in Homoeopathy vis-?-vis: one remedy or
multiple remedies, one dose or multiple doses,
individualization or combination of formulae, complete
cure or palliation & suppressions, what to treat
either the man or disease. In short, one is aspired to
become consultant/specialist or general specialist. On
the other hand most of us chose to remain general
practitioners, Why? - Because most of us are blind who
shot in the dark, they are never confident what is
going to happen next and they are timid and never
stand by one principle. Dr. Prafull Vijayakar?s basic
concept of prescribing is * Where and what is wrong at
the cellular level which is the basic unit of life. *
What has precipitated started or caused the
problem/ailment. * How the problem has traveled and
where i.e. ?Journey of Disease?. * How to make the
disease disappear in a particular order. ?All symptoms
that disappear are not cured?. We all understand that
the basic unit of every living being is cell. More
than one cells make tissues, tissues make organs,
organs make systems, the systems make the organism.
And the organisms make the universe. A case of Moschus
The understanding of the remedy is like ?A motorboat
without a rudder?, i.e. all force, no control, no
direction. The children are always over pampered and
spoilt. The basic symptom is ?Shuddering with any
disease / emotion. When a disease does not follow the
normal course embryologically and goes in an abnormal
way, it should make us think of a group of Hysterical
remedies. Only homoeopathy is the curative method on
this earth was a delusion in the minds of homoeopaths
which Dr. Vijayakar washed away by justifying that any
method which: 1. Promotes or enhances all
morphogenetic gradients OR 2. Nutritive gradients
..................................leads to cure.
Promoting or enhancing these gradients to establish a
cure must coincide with Hering?s Law of Cure. This
method may be any one of the followings: 1.
Homoeopathic remedies i.e. similimum. 2. Blessings. 3.
Vibrations. 4. Yoga. 5. Magnetism. 6. Mental
Catharsis. 7. Spirituality. 8. Cosmic forces. 9. Any
good/positive energies. Hence we see that toxic
gradients are: * Active gradients * Use up ATP - hence
cause weakness * Can lead to aggravation of disease
and death * They are opposite or against the
morphogenetic gradient * They cause disease transfer
and hence suppression. Toxins impair the immunity in a
given tissue, when diseased. It temporarily acts as an
irritation to cause infection or transient disturbed
functions on the way to cure. The Laws of
Thermodynamics and Energetics state: The sum total of
all energies in the universe is constant. * Energy
cannot be created nor destroyed. It only changes form.
* All systems in the universe proceed in a
unidirectional manner towards catabolism to add to the
entropy of the universe. Video-Case A case of chronic
asthma after treatment leads to skin eruptions on the
sole of the foot with cracks. Patient has got back
pain, leg pain, headaches and lack of concentration.
Therefore not able to study well and deteriorated in
studies. Analysis It seems to be a cure with
exteriorization of disease on the skin. But actually
it is wrong because all the generals are bad and the
cracks and eruptions was the beginning of psoriasis.
Hence the disease is progressing further. The miasm
has also shifted from Psoric asthma to syphilitic
cracks and psoriasis. The disease symptoms move from:
* One location to another * Organ to organ in the same
system * System to system of the same embryological
origin * System and organs of one Embryological origin
or germinal layer to another, e.g. ectoderm to
mesoderm. * From one miasm to another, i.e. change of
mode of defence and expression. This is the journey of
the disease which has to be retraced all the way back.
In acute and most chronic diseases Hering?s Law must
be seen and observed. If irreversible changes have
occurred then we follow the theory of Compensation or
Arresting the disease. On 24th September, One session
was totally dedicated to the study of embryology. He
revised the growth of the embryo and the formation of
the three germinal layers. This helped us to
understand the validity and understanding of the
Hering?s Law of cure and Miasms. Dr Vijayakar put
forth an important and interesting concept correlating
embryology and Miasms. He upholds that ?The Cells or
Genes are the MIND and they perform the main and basic
functions of life: * Nutrition * Multiplication /
Reproduction * Protection. / Defense. Dr. Prafull
Vijayakar started his lecture with the topic, the
homoeopaths has much confusion about, Miasms. Dr.
Prafull Vijayakar explained in one line: ?Miasm is the
Coconut tree to the humanity?. It is surprising that
how people could ignore it. He simplified the
explanation of miasms to the extent that a layman
could also learn what he meant. Before we listened to
him the matter on miasms everywhere was full of
confusion. This may be the sole reason as to why so
many homoeopaths avoided and abandoned the subject of
miasms. In disease, incubation is followed by
functional changes (Psora), which are further followed
by structural changes, such as some growth, thickening
or destruction (Sycosis / Syphilis). There are only
three types of miasms; 1. Psora: Functional
disturbances. 2. Sycosis: Growth. 3. Syphilis:
Destruction. Dr. Vijayakar scientifically proved the
existence three miasms and strongly condemned any
other miasm/s apart from the above three basic miasms.
He said, ?I don?t agree with the schools of thought
vaguely increasing the numbers of miasms following the
names of the diseases, e.g. Cancer, Typhoid, Ringworm,
Leprosy, AIDS, Malaria and so forth?. Dr. Vijayakar
said that the Miasms are important to know: * Birth
constitution * State of disease * Physical appearance
* Mental behaviour and attitude * In wounds and
tendencies to injuries * Dreams * In chart of 7 layers
of suppression * In aging process * In drug & potency
selection * Holistic world - chronology * Behaviour of
the disease. It seemed to be a religious discourse
when Dr. Vijayakar said, ?All systems in this universe
proceed in the direction which leads to disoderliness
or randomness of the system or degeneration of the
universe in a given condition of temperature and
pressure?. ?Nothing is permanent or stable in this
universe?. BUT HOW? was also explained. Also the basic
functions of a cell was explained as: GENERATION ,
ORGANISATION, DEFENCE , Disorder in function of
organisation is PSORA. Disorder in reproduction is
SYCOSIS. Disorder in defence is SYPHILIS. . On 25th
September he started with the types of illnesses,
wherein he stated that there are four categories of
illnesses: 1. Acute infections - are usually psoric,
they effect ecto-endoderm, they can be cure in
accordance with the acute chart ( It is a chart on
acutes prepared by Dr. Praful ). 2. Acute Excerbations
of the Chronic diseases such as Malaria, Ulcerative
Coloitis, Paroxysms, Pulmonary Koch?s, Typhoid,
Epilepsy. They are syco-syphilitic and effect
Ecto-meso-endoderm, Genetically constitutional Drug
(G.C.S. ) is required to cure them. 3. Chronic
diseases - they are curable and incurable, they
require GCS . Man is a mixture of Energy + Air +
Fire + Water + Earth Dr. Vijayakar described Energy =
Activity, Air = Mind, Fire = Thermals, Water = Thirst
and Eatrh = Physicals. He advised nothing in the man
is unimportant neither the physicals, not the mentals,
nor the thermals. All are important and must be
considered while handling a human being in sickness.
While taking about his technique of handling cases he
elaborated the man through a cell. He advised during
case taking, to take the innate characters of a man,
which are always with him and never change. These
innate characters are : 1. Introvert / Extrovert 2.
Will 3. Intellect 4. Morals 5. Defence 6. Speed 7.
Natural urges/ deisres/ aversions 8. Sensitivity 9.
Tolerance 10. Cosmic affection 11. Mental changes 12.
Physical changes 13. Miasms. . He categorized the
will under positive and negative wills and described
as: WILL POSITIVE NEGATIVE: Courageous, Timid,
Audacity, Cowardice, Positivity, Bashful, Obstinacy,
Lack Confidence, Perseverance, Irresolution,
Pertinacity, Weak will, Plans, Fearful, Anxiety,
Cautious etc.etc.. On 26th September Dr. Vijayakar
taught about the art of 1. CASE TAKING 2. OBSERVATION
3. FACE READING 4. INTERPRETATION - behaviour,
attitude, style of telling the complaints. He said
first of all every homoeopath must know three things:
1. Man in health - Innate Charecters 2. Man in disease
-Signs and symptoms along with Miasms 3. Man in cure -
Herrings Law of Cure. Dr. Vijayakar scientifically
explained as to why the anti-epileptic drugs should
never be allowed with the homoeopathic treatment. He
showed how epilepsy occurs due to imbalance of
chemicals in cells. Imbalance gives rise to excessive
electrical potential. Hence an epileptic attack.
Giving in-depth detail about the Journey of the
disease, he stressed to ask ourselves the three
questions i.e. 1. At what location in the body the
disease is, immune-impairment-Embryologically. 2. The
disease in which Miasm? - Defensive Mechanism? . 3.
Where it was before the present condition? - . He said
these three points helps a homoeopath to get proper
history of the patient without a failure. Throwing
light on Immunology, Dr. Vijayakar stated that the
genes are the proteins, which are of two types. One is
Humoral, that gives internal environment to the body.
The others are solid, which give shape to the body.
Our immunity is dependant upon the Protein
Equilibrium. The protein equilibrium consists of
various processes like Phosphorylation, Hydrolysis,
Amination, Acid-Base balance, Hydration/Dehydration,
Carboxylation, Oxydation and reduction. In short,
human biochemistry equilibrium provides us immunity.
The main factors that cause diseases are: 1.
Vaccination. 2. Antigens- bacterial, viral, or fungal.
3. Toxins - quinine, de-worming agents, antibiotics.
4. Nutritional. 5. Bites - insect, man, animal. 6.
Emotional - grief, anger, joy. 6. Plant allergens. 7.
Industrial hazards. 8. Radiation. 10. Local
applications. 11. Injuries & burns -physical,
chemical, radiational. 12. Poisons - Ptomaine etc. 13.
A/F anger, grief, indignation, mortification. A
video-case of a lady suffering from Eczema was shown.
Dr. Vijayakar stressed repeatedly to find the stage in
which the patient is present and the causations. He
impressed upon the delegates that if I were given 24
hours to cut a tree, I shall spend 22 hours in
sharpening my axe. From this statement we should learn
that how much we need to sharpen our mind to capture
so many things from the patient. In the afternoon
session children cases were shown with a view to teach
minor observations regarding the face reading, style
of crying etc. He summed up: Stram.: Cries in panic.
Voice sinking down, weak, wants to cry but can not
cry. Plumb.: Like Stram. but emaciated child. Lyssin.:
Barking cry like a dog, demanding cry like a dog. Kali
c.: Quarreling but in friendly manner Bell.: Shreiking
cry, high pitched. Puls.: Pitiable cry. Timid. Cina:
Nagging, Pitious cry. Goes round and round. Lyco.:
Cranky children. Fear mixed with anger. Hits the
mother. Nux v.: Monotonous cry, Piteous cry. Zinc.m.:
Shreiking cry. Demanding cry: Cham., Lyco., Merc.s.,
Plat., Hep.s. . Dr. Vijayakar, after showing a case of
Granuloma ear cured with Agaricus, mentioned the
taints of Agaricus as Psoric, Sycotic and Syphilitic
Agaricus. Similarly, he showed another case of
Hysteria cured with Aurum m. and taught different
taints of Sycotic, Syphilitic and Hysteric Aurums,
Psoric, Sycotic & Syphilitic Kalis. Dr. Vijayakar said
the drug pictures may show their different taints in
Psora, Sycosi and Syphilis. A case of a homoeopathic
doctor was shown with Paralysis of Left hand cured
with Cup. m. Important thing was how the patient
returned from Syphilitic to Sycotic and then Psoric
states. Dr. vijayakar told that it is important for a
real cure to return from more destructive miasm to
less destructive miasm. Some more video-cases cured
with single dose and wise follow-up, such as the cases
of Polyarthritis after suppression of skin disease,
Hysteria, Hemiplegia etc. were shown.-------Note: Next
workshop by same group at the same venue will be held
for foreign delegates from 6th Jan 2002 to 13 Jan
2002.
