CAUSATION ITS IMPORTANCE IN PRESCRIPTION

Post by p_aarti2000 »

wel is it possible to give the homoeopathic prescription on the basis of CAUSATION i.e, after going only to the rubrics of 'Ailments from' for e.g ailments from anger or indignation.
Can any thing can be discussed related to this topic as causation with relation to its importance in the homoeopathic practice, which have been given a greatest importance by Dr.Boger...
how one can go through anemnasis for getting the causative rubric in a patient so as to reach towards the similmum???

Somtimes causation seems clear, and a link between event and symptoms seems
very strong. In that situation causation should be strongly considered.
But in other cases there is not a link with specific events, and in that
case it's better to leave causation out of the case, than to start
speculating. If it would take a lot of probing and guesswork to come up
with a causation, then IMO leave it, and prescribe "as usual", based on the
symptom picture.

But when a symptom has a clear beginning point, it's alway important to ask,
"What else was going on at that point in your life?", or "What was happening
just before that?" Perhaps continuing with, "How did that affect you?" or,
"How did or do you feel about that?", and etc.

Does that help?

Dr.Aarti-
I am not sure if you have read the works of Dr.Koppikar ( formerly
editor of Homeopathic heritage from Jain Publishers).
He is one of the best causation and key note prescribers I have
seen. His book on Clinical experience is available from BJP

Depends a lot on where you see the cause. If a chronic
ailment was caused by failed relationship, then no
doubt it is an important one and sometimes the only
valuable one.

On the other hand, if a chronic asthma patient
suddenly gets an attack due to anger or sweets and you
consider this as a cause that is inviting
trouble.
Similarly, in a true acute situation, uncomplicated
with any chronic sx, the causation, if strong, is very
worthy.
Some other time, withdrawing the causative agent from
the patient will itself do the trick.
