Hi I'm new to this group & was wondering if there is anyone out there
who might offer me some advice on bed wetting in children. I have a
6yo who wets the bed most nights. She is a happy & healthy little
girl except for this small problem. Have tried an alarm with no
results it wakes everyone in the house but her. Any ideas on a
natural remedy would be welcome.

Re: Bed wetting
Hello,
Bedwetting is more due to lack of self esteem,
feebleness, timidity and often referred to as a low
level crying.
It would help if you could give the group the totality
of the child's picture, physical and mental. Plus the
nature of the child's sleep, the time of passage of
urine -first part, midnight or later part of sleep and
all associated symptoms.
All said and done, it will be absolutely necessary to
boast the child's ego by offering her all liberties,
never interrupting in her speech, finding out
intimidators in school and neighbourhood and
separating her from them and counselling the child on
the realities of life and lots of caresses and warmth.

Re: Bed wetting
Greetings,
I don't know how most homeopaths might use this information. Either as
part of the overall symptom picture, or see it as a maintaining cause, I
think. Bedwetting, especially in older children, has been linked to food
allergy, most often dairy, followed closely by wheat. If you look up
bedwetting&allergy on a good Internet search engine, you will find many
articles about it.
When I first heard of this, a good friend's child of eight years was
still having this problem. They had tried everything, including
homeopathic treatment. I first came across the link in a reading of
medical history. What I recall is that a doctor who was researching
allergies in the 1950's, found that the lining of the bladder, being
very similar to the lining of the sinus cavities, had the same bumpy and
irritated surface in hay fever sufferers. He was the first to make a
link between enuresis and allergy. I'm sorry, I have not been able to
find that reference at the moment.
My friend's boy was told about it, avoided dairy products, and did not
wet the bed from the first day. When he took even a little, he did wet.
I saw him very quickly made his own decision to avoid dairy, turning
down even the ice cream his siblings were having. He is a grown man
these days, very healthy (his family lives in England and has always
used homeopaths for their doctoring), and on occasion does eat small
amounts of dairy. No longer avoids it religiously. He reports that he
does not feel about it strongly one way or the other, neither craves nor
dislikes it. Just doesn't feel the need for it.

Re: Bed wetting
Dairy or other allergens may trigger bedwetting, but they are usually
not the cause. In most cases, the cause is the child's impaired immune
system. One can avoid the allergens (in this case milk) however a more
permanent solution is homeopathic constitutional treatment. This will
help the child become stronger and be able to handle otherwise harmless
substances, such as milk, without wetting the bed.

Tamara
