Dear Rochelle
This case "speaks" to me of possible cancer miasm: the spot on the iris;
love of animals; desire to be good; sensitive to reprimand ("desires the
good opinion of others", and, of course, the genetics!.
The gut/stool symptoms suggest IBS, and the denuding on the tongue is
possibly an extension of the gut topography which isn't going to be
excellent since the "good" that 6 months of breastfeeding would have
achieved was probably obviated by the antibiotics.
Agreed, the unusual tongue symptom could point to the Rx. You've been sent a
comprehensive list for geographic tongue and lac-c is there. That means you
can place lac-h there also (I find that where lac-c is in most physical
general rubrics lac-h is also a possibility).
Since you've said that no obvious constitutional Rx is apparent I'd be
inclined to attempt to restore gut function and her little personality will
then shine through. Diet restrictions/regime is an obvious desirability.
However, keeping in mind that Lac-h is a sarcode it can be used to restore
gut function if used in the lower potencies. In this situation I use LMs and
move up gradually.
However I know you don't use them, so 7C would be OK given as a NMN dose
every new moon and full moon for several months. Lac-h (like Carc) is tied
to moon phases (ie ). I've had several cases of restoration of gut
function in this way, also restoring mental function The Chinese have a
lovely saying that the stomach is the second mind and it's always lovely to
witness mental acumen improve when gut function is restored.
BTW Lac-h also has affinity for the kidneys.
If you can come up with nothing more specific I think this would be worth a
try.
kind regards
Patricia

Re: case of the geographic tongue
Dear Patricia,
Thanks for that. It is very interesting. I was wondering about homing in on what her mum's remedy could have been during the stress at pregnancy Staph comes to mind and it is also in Glossitis which I now reckon is a better rubric than Mapped tongue. I have had really good results with a dose of Carc 30 with children as well these sort of symptoms. I will have a good read of all the stuff I saved last time we discussed Lac H on the list. Food for thought.
The white opaque spot is more on the sclera and only cut a little (in a quater moon shape:-) into the iris.
Regards
Rochelle

I would still include the rubric 'glossitis' as it opens up the choice of
remedies.
By the way, please correct me if wrong, but am I right in thinking these
conditions are related to herpes and this would be why a rx such as Ran S
features quite high in the related rubrics. Might be worth asking if this
condition has been prevalent in the family.

I don't think this is an inflammation in the true sense of the word.
However I found this on a Dr Lockie site:-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Glossitis
Sore tongue caused by temporary absence of papillae, the tiny protrusions
that contain the taste buds; denuded of papillae, the tongue becomes dark
red and inflamed; hot, spicy, acidic, or scratchy foods should be avoided.
Occasionally condition is a symptom of iron-deficient Anaemia, or a lack of
Vitamin Bl2, B3, biotin, or folate. Supplying the deficiency usually
re-establishes normal growth of papillae.
Specific remedies to be taken 4 times daily for up to 5 days
a.. Sore, burning tongue wide red tip and red streak in middle Arsenicum
30c
b.. Whole mouth and tongue hot, dry, and red Belladonna 30c
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
OK the description sounds correct but not the remedies for those reasons!!!

Re: case of the geographic tongue
The Magnesiums are also peace makers, sheep dung stool = Mag mur, + scalded
parts of the tongue, general liver disorder but there are many many rx which
could apply to this case. I too think that diet is a core issue here as well
as the apparent slow learning and of course these might be connected.

Re: case of the geographic tongue
Rochelle,
Sorry I am chipping in late in this thread. My two
sons had this mapped tongue and both had been victims
of anti biotic and steroid abuse !
For the ender boy, the mapped tongue vanished at about
eight years only to manifest in mind with absent
mindedness getting up prominently (now slowly
responding to verat a).
The younger one was lucky in that I had learnt
homeopathy by then. In the first phase , when I took
this tongue sx as a must in case taking, nothing great
could be done. But once, seeing the miasmatic totality
and went for tub, that gave up albeit slowly.
In both cases the map was on and off. Gone for some
time, then on for a month. Both couldn't eat spiced
foods,(burning). Curiously, when things threatened to
go out of control for my younger one and antibiotics
were given, the map will resurface. Thank god, that
phase is gone mostly.
In your case agar and tub can be considered agar for
the daredevilry and tub as an intercurrent. Since the
child had coughing spells in the past and the late
milestones, agar might just fit. In my opinion, the
children exhibit pronounced mental symptoms (by some
divine order) to lead us to the remedy since they
cannot tell us their sx ! My son's contrariness with
parents led me to tub.
Let the map alone, focus on the srp on the mental and
physical plane and you will be there. All the best.
