Threadworm treatment

Hi all,

Has anyone got an effective treatment programme or experience
on this ? (I have never found a completely one-hundred-percent
solution to this infestation - such as using the old chestnuts like
Scirr. or the constitutional, or treating the miasmatic background,
which were Tubercular -> Carcinogenic in three cases.)

I might just give the Carcinosin they both (mother and son)
obviously need, as it is a 'boundary' problem, but, in the
meanwhile and in my experience to date, it changes the soil, but
not enough to actually eradicate the predisposition. I need to
post something to them tonight, so anybody with experience who
is quick off the mark would be much appreciated!

Staphysagria has boundary problems, so has Sepia and Lil-T (in conjunction
with worm infestations). I have used the above with threadworms with success
but they were indicated at the time.

I've also listed Murphy's rx on oxyuris (threadworm): (I have asterisked the
italics, there were no bolds in that rubric)

Oxyuris vermicularis - ars, bapt, *chelo, *cina, ign, indg, lyc, *merc-d,
*merc-sul, nat-p, rat, *sant, sil, sin-n, spig, teucr, valer

Hi Eleana,

Thank you v. much for this. The mother has just finished a
course of highly indicated low dose Staph (after a s.d. dose of
Ignatia high, which took her into ROS - I appreciate the worms (in
theory) could be part of this ROS, but considering the time
element and her presenting layer, I would think she needs a
'boundary' remedy like Carc or Phos.

Her son has just finished a Phos course (alternating with Ars. for
acute breathing attacks), so it has not expelled the worms. In
previous px, Teucr. has seemed to work for some, but not others.
So from all that, maybe it would be better if I use other methods
(like pumpkin seeds, garlic, grapefruit seed extract dilution, etc.,)
and just treat the Whole with the appropriate homeopathic rx.

Cheers for clarifying things for me. This group is wonderful at
that!

I've only ever treated it using the constitutional rx at the time and it have seemed to work.

Another way you could look at this, still in conjunction with boundary
problems is to use Fringed Violet and Green Essence: both are flower
essences from the Australian Bush Flower Essences Range; Fringed Violet is a
big boundary remedy and Green Essence is a remedy par excellence for
parasitic infestations and candida problems.

If you want to go down the herbalist route Quassia (Picrasma Excelsa, Family
Simaroubaceae) (Bitterwood or Bitter Ash) is a very good remedy to use
either as an infusion or an enema: 1/2-1 tsp of the wood chips in a cup of
cold water left overnight to steep; this should be drunk three times a day
for a week or so. Alternatively an enema can be made from one part Quassia
to 20 parts water. In tincture form Quassia can be taken 1/2-1ml three
times a day for ten days and re-assessed.

The advice of a qualified herbalist/naturopath may be appropriate here.

Great idea Eleana - thanks. I've already asked the mum to get
some Mimulus and Rock Rose in for the lad, as he gets anxiety
attacks, so I will get some Fringed Violet to him also in due
course. Never heard of Green Essence though! I'll have a look
on their website for it....

No, I don't think I'll be suggesting the herbal route for the boy,
and the mother is a qualified therapist herself, so if she wants to
do the herbal thing, she will do, but at the moment I've just
suggested the garlic, pumpkin and grapefruit seed extract as
these are 'safe' options.
