Is there a rubric for constantly walking around in circles as although I can't find one this was a keynotes of Belladonna with autism given at a lecture in Ireland on special needs. I will type this lecture out when I have time as I feel it was very useful as it gave differentiation of Rx from a homeopath who specializes in special needs children.

Thanks for that and when I have just repped it by doing a search it was there albeit at the bottom so I don't know why I couldn't find it the first time. At least Bell is there which what I gave the patient!!

Forever curious I always want to know why this is the case (and I mean going
beyond what is in the provings).

This walking in circles is difficult to find in the materia medica so can
anyone say where the inclusion in the rubric comes from.

My own thoughts are this:-

Belladonna is acute, sudden, despairing of the pain and so extremely
restless with a great need to escape. This restlessness can take the form of
dancing (in circles maybe). Belladonna cannot lie down. If forced to the
legs are crossed and they cannot uncross them - this is also suggestive of
going round in circles (try walking with your legs crossed!). The gait is
tottering. There is also a lot of visual disturbance and things appear
crooked. There is also confusion of the mind as if intoxicated. There can be
a lot of rocking to and fro and sensations of sinking, floating and bouncing
+ delusions about being pursued and runs about everywhere.

But this is not really specific to walking in circles. It is one thing to be
in a repertory but another to be in a materia medica, so I also look forward
to knowing why and how this can be used with confidence.

Dear Joy,
I can see what you mean. I am hopeful about this Rx for this patient who sees things, hears things and can be violent, At the moment she is under the influence of Risperidone an anti psychotic drug and Prozac!! There is schizophrenia in the family.

Sounds interesting and on track for the Solanum family. As an aside and not
really anything to do with your case, doesn't Dolphin have 'circles' in its
sx picture?

Have you checked out the Risperidone for side effects.

This possibly also has nothing to do with the case, but while we're
"talking" about it....the provings of Lac-h and Lac-m also elicited themes
of circles and Sankaran has an interesting case on his website (check Sydney
seminar) of Lac-d...BIG circle theme; he's penned some interesting musings
on the tendency for animals (especially cows) to follow the leader.
