Emergency Treatment - Homoeopathy v Allopathy / Horses for Courses

This is indeed a complex and perhaps difficult issue.

A lot depends on the ability of the homoeopath translating the observations
and symptoms into a suitable remedy. The recognition of serious pathology
can be difficult even for the experts as we often read in the papers but one
should have alarm bells ringing with some symptoms (eg new persistent
headache etc).

There are various examples of where the judicious application of homoeopathy
has saved the patient from a great deal of allopathic interference and the
misery of operations and invasive treatment. As an example the use of
Bryonia when appendicitis is suspected or a heart remedy when the patient is
perhaps in the throes of a heart attack - of course they then need to be
sent to ER to be checked thoroughly. After all emergency treatment is
exactly what it says it is.

What must be kept at the forefront of everybody's mind is that the
life/health of the patient is paramount and in an emergency everything
should be considered to save the patient's life and give one time. As
someone quite correctly said, you don't worry about the piano when the house
is burning down!

Reading this case with the patient receiving medications IV, one can assume
that the procedures are being undertaken in a hospital and therefore any
assistance that a homoeopath can give can be regarded as a bonus.

This reminds me of one of my colleague's cases when the patient was bleeding
severely through the rectum and all allopathic procedures had not achieved
anything.

Female patient with severe rectal bleeding. The patient was being given a
cortisone based medicine. Hope was lost by all and death was imminent. In
fact the hospital doctor in charge of the case had said "The Angel of Death
is winning this case." One of the students attended the case with the
instruction that she should report whatever the patient is saying/doing.
The following was reported back:
The patient is lying in bed, weak.
"O God - I am going to die - help me."
"Please doctor, help me, I am dying and I have young children."

On just these symptoms the remedy was prescribed and the bleeding stopped
within the hour. At the same time the cortisone treatment had been stopped.
However, when the cortisone treatment was restarted and the bleeding
restarted too. The cortisone treatment was stopped again, bleeding stopped
and the patient was discharged after a few days.

Eliminating, the only remedy left is Ars. One single dose of 30c was
administered.

So you definitely cannot say we must give up hope, at the same time as
Viorel correctly advises, we must at all times recognise our own limitation

past thought of Nat Mur but seem to remember being told it had not been
useful.
He was in actual fact returned to intensive care that pm and more Cortisone
given. He started to improve rapidly, became quite euphoric [? Cortisone]
[? Chelidonium working] and yesterday was able to walk around and eat
normally.
It was a worrying time. I am grateful it has ended well. I was grateful
for
care given by orthodox system.
We are to have a talk sometime about events leading up to illness and his
near death experience, Jean.

This interesting and severe case you are offering us in the last weeks might

give you the very real and important second thought, a new hint maybe for
you
and many others, regarding homeopathy TODAY - the fact that it is quite
often
overrated. Especially lay people have a complete wrong image and expectancy
from this method.
I mean, the method has certain limits which must be recognised due to
ethical
and judicial reasons for us, doctors.
In german they have a good saying which goes : "let`s (leave) keep the
church
in the village", in other words in due place for it.
I mean, if somebody is coming with - say - severe circular, wired-like pain
in the chest, I at last would not start giving him Cactus grandiflorus in
the
first place or whatever else but will order an EKG to be made, a troponin
test
and than eventually send him to hospital. Or if someone comes with a colonic

tumor or suspicion of pancreatitis or things like these I will not start
giving
him the aparent suitable homeopathic remedy but will sent him to operation
or
to hospital.
It must be beared in mind from the very beginning, that homeopathy was
developed 200 years ago in absolute COMPLETE different conditions to the
ones we are
facing today - especially from the point of view of the pathology we had and

have today, the enormous, radical change in society and in it's pathology
and
that this homeopathy has to be adapted to todays realities, adapted in both
senses. Otherwise we break the hyppocratic oath which would be criminal.
So homeopathy is, of course, all right, but must be suitable to the case.
THIS case was NOT suitable for THIS therapy but for a good allopathic
hospital from the very beginning.
Homeopathy still is and will - probably - remain an alternative to
allopathy,
the second choice quite often, let' s say in 40% of the cases or so.
The mistake is usually made in the beginning, when young doctors start
learning. They get teachers who are very old-fashioned and not ready to
adapt and
denounce old theories or at last examine them critical, theories meanwhile
proven to be wrong, or, they are getting the wrong books, etc. So they get
wrong
hopes. Than they wonder cases are not running or other bad things happen and

they get compromised.
