Follow-up case - ideas/suggestions welcomed (quite long)

Post by d_barbara_hamilton »

Hi again,

At the risk of monopolising air-wave time here, I would just like to see if
others have different remedy ideas for the prx I have in mind. I've tried to
put it into 'repertory speak' to make it easier - so any impressions are
helpful.

I'm sure I've probably left things out which might need me to research
further or ask, but please let me know. I won't say what she has had yet
as I don't want to inflluence initial impressions, but obviously has needed
Carcinocin many times in the past.

Thanks.

Regards, Barbara

----
16 y o female. (Treated for a number of years, most info via mum)
Overweight by apx a stone. Brown hair, blue eyes. Never exercises. Lots
of moles, and born with one on right hip.
Appetite varies. When depressed doesn't eat.

NBWS mother left family home/divorce, but prior to that,
NBWS since ANY 'change' in her life
- (i.e. furniture leaving/being replaced; would cry for hours; not recover
from that loss)
- sleep-overs at friends' house - had to be brought home.
- changing schools / friends and arguments / more homework, etc.

Hx
Birth induced.
Born with 'clicky hip' and floating rib protrusion on left side (suggested
congenital due to French ancestry, or possibly due to being large baby:
weight at birth nearly 9 and a half lbs).
Bleed from rectum shortly after birth
Slept well - 8 -10 hrs a night
Vaccinations, DPT, MMR, but not Hib or BCG
Stopped breastfeeding within two months - would only take bottle
Constipation thereafter (bottled milk presumably)
Screamed with pain on defecation, pulling legs up.

Affectionate and aware - but also able to leave to play by self.
Exploring and fascinated by the world - but would put things in strange
places (eg insects/worms in mouth, and possible finger? in vagina causing
bleed).
Thereafter susceptible to worms, vaginally and anally.
Offensive discharge from vagina - leucorrhea. Yellow/green, purulent from
age 2 approximately until puberty. Apparently an exploratory was
performed under anaesthesia aged 8/9 to uncover source of discharge. Dx
was given as 'anaerobic bacteria' which would disappear when the
hormonal changes occurred at puberty. Unquote.
The girl found the hospital visit and "injection" in her hand traumatic (as
she would, as it was a 'change' to the normal routine + maybe fear of
needles?)
Periods started at 12. Painful immediately and protracted. Hx resolved.

No problems at school - in fact her nursery headteacher felt she was
somewhat 'gifted'. Star pupil. Easily liked and happy child.
Fell off climbing frame - possible head injury.
Mother doesn't know the point of 'change' - but seems to be after
changing schools, and the male teacher she adored moving to another
school. (Father-figure? or ?)

New school "terrifying" at first. Felt isolated. Had gradually integrated,
when mother left. Elder brother bullied and traumatised at same school -
she was not told what was happening when she asked. (Felt "left out").
He left school. Shortly afterwards she started developing headache', or
by her own admission, excuses not to go, but the h/pain was real.

Felt it was 'unfair' - being not told, not included, and that nobody had
noticed that she was suffering. So she voted with her feet, and from a
'docile, obedient, long-suffering and dutiful child', she became 'introverted,
closed, disobedient, angry (striking mother) and confused', and couldn't
cope with the amount of homework nor school life. She stopped going.

Was put into special education problem. She still rebelled with 'illness'.
She sees a counsellor (on and off), but says he doesn't help - but mum
doesn't agree and she goes without any difficulty.

Other matters worth mentioning were the death of her hamster which
died in her hand whilst visitors there were watching and she felt she had
to 'control her feelings'.

When the family cat (of great age) died six months ago she did not
respond accordingly, and by this time, her feelings had 'closed down'
considerably.
Family Hx
Mother: Carcinogenic background. Possible borderline personality
disorder, but not emotionally stable (very anxious). Left husband after
long marriage of over 20 odd years; had to return to place of birth, unable
to stay in close proximity due to circumstances, but stays in close
contact by phone and quarterly visits.
MGM: Very healthy at 84, except carpal tunnel. Not maternal type.
MGF: Alzheimers (Body Lewy Dementia)
Father. Business man. Reserved. Health unknown, thought to be good.
Sounds very sulphury or Natrum.
PGM: died of colon cancer apprx. late 40's (father in early twenties).
PGF: Addisons Dx. Widower, then 2 marriages. Lives abroad.
Presenting:

Low self-esteem -"hate myself". Cuts herself with blade. Usually left
arm. She feels it "makes her realise she is still alive" when she sees the
blood. Has had a/depressants last year - made her feel suicidal. Ceased.

Depressed. Emotionally labile: hysterical laugh easily, then introverted.
"Feels dead on my left side, the heart side..." Sometimes all over "dead".
"Feel dirty - especially on the bits that sweat: hands, back, feet, between
legs"
"I feel cut off"
"Life is like a book, where there are words on the page, but the sentences
are all jumbled up and they don't make sense."
Stares into space sometimes, no thoughts. Unblinking.
Sees spiders - catch her attention, because she was traumatised by a big
one when she was younger.
Fear of death - since early childhood dream of rotting animal.
Fear of men.
Disgust of sexual matters and girls who have sex in her age group.
Her voice sounds too loud to her own ears, but deaf to the human voice
in a noisy room.
Sensitive to noise and music. Deliberately plays sad songs. Weeps.
Shuts herself in her room. Doesn't want to talk to anyone, except
internet friends. Doesn't want to go to College anymore for the two
subjects she does go in for, nor see anyone, nor make friends with
anyone. To most questions she replies "I don't know", even the ones
about past occurrences, and I believe some of the time she doesn't and
has blanked it out of her memory.
