Goitre patient - update

Post by Rochelle »

I last saw this patient 2 weeks ago and the goitre had gone right down. Her energy was fine. She finally got the biopsy results back saying she had Hashimoto's syndrome. She has cut down the Lapis now to 2 a day. However because of her blood test readings she has succumbed and gone onto allopathic Thyroxin this week.

She has just phoned me to say that the goitre has started to grow again. The only change has been that she took another Calc 1M last week as we planned to see if we could get the T4 and TSH readings better. her last blood test readings show that since she has been on the thyroxin the T4 and TSH have worsened.

The question has to be has going onto the allopathic Thyroxin caused the goitre that we got down to start growing again or was it the Calc , although she feels absolutely fine. Any ideas please? She is still taking the Lapis 12x.

Rochelle,

One thing I've learned recently that no one, even physicians, had ever told me is- that T4 is manufactured in the Thyroid, but the conversion to T3, the active part of the thyroid, takes place in the liver! I've been working with liver specific herbs such as sublingual Silyminarian (Milk Thistle), topical hot Castor Oil packs, and Chinese herbs to detox the liver, and while it's improved greatly, it still has a ways to go... but recently I've been using a homeopathic remedy Carduus Marianus 6C every day for this past week and a half, which is specific to sluggish, congested
liver, which seems to be helping greatly. My energy level is starting to increase slowly. I've also been experimenting with Chinese Cupping, which is supposed to remove congestion, and increase blood flow to organs/glands etc... and drinking some chinese herbal teas to heat the liver. For the first time, my Armour Thyroid medication seems to be helping a bit. I did lose a little weight last week without trying, which is a first. Jury's still out on basal temperature increasing... I think it will take some time.

I think the connection between the liver and thyroid needs to be given more press.
Hope this is helpful.
