Cyst on kidney

Post by Tanya Marquette »

Took a case today of a woman with a cyst on her right kidney.
One of the sx is that she gets sudden bouts of perspiration which
sometimes comes through her navel. The perspiration has an
offensive odor which smells like dead flesh she says. She does
report profuse perpiration over the rest of her body but that does
not have any particular odor.

Has anyone any ideas for rubrics for the dead flesh odor from the
navel?

What rep did you find the rubric Abdomen-odor-bad-umbilicus?

that sounds like a great rubric

It came from synthesis and the reference was Murray Feldmans rep of bowel
nosodes

you may find it is to do with a discharge rather than perspiration

perspiration in spots is in the rep, but because she also perspires all over
not sure

Tell has persp in spots and smelling bad, so maybe find the source in the
mat med for that one and see if there are any other matching things

what version of synthesis do you have? it doesnt come up in my
radar version.

and yes, tell is one of the rx that came up. and i have to read up on
several others. but it was such an unusual sounding rubric that
i needed to get some info on it. i am sure i will post again as i research
the
case.

Hi,
As already suggested by Robin, I am inclined to consider it
as a discharge from navel and psor is a high ranking remedy
to be considered. besides it has also the tendency to form cysts.

"The offensiveness of Psor. is something really tremendous. You will
recognize it immediately as he comes into your office. People cannot
stay together in the same room as a Psor. patient. The decomposition
element is very prominent in his body. You get production of
decomposition in the perspiration which is putrid and has exactly the
smell that comes from a dog when it is dead. The decayed flesh - this is
very characteristic of Psor. There is another similarity to decayed
eggs. You get these odours from all the discharges. You get this smell
of spoiled eggs, especially from Ars. also. Arn. is the first remedy
that we would think of." (Vithoulkas)
Some rubrics for consideration are:
PERSPIRATION - SUDDEN
PERSPIRATION - ODOR - cadaverous like carrion
PERSPIRATION - ODOR - putrid
ABDOMEN - DISCHARGE from umbilicus
with best wishes,
V.T.Yekkirala.

Hi,
In continuation of my previous email,
....you may like to consider Minilia albicans., especially
if she has harboured anger which she is now venting out
through her umbilicus.
Extract from EH:

[hom_links - Monilia albicans] The phenomenon of suppression is very
evident in Candida albicans, first of all in the form of suppressed
anger.
[hom_links - Monilia albicans] During the provings, rage was experienced
directly and immediately. However, in practice I usually saw conditions
of suppressed anger, of anger which was not allowed. In many cases the
anger could not be kept down and was therefore permanently looking for
an outlet.
[hom_links - Monilia albicans] 'Wut im Bauch haben' is a common idiom in
the German language, which could be translated as 'anger in my belly or
in my tummy'. This expression fits very well with the central physical
symptoms concerning the digestive system (flatulence, fullness,
diarrhoea and cramping pains...see symptoms and clinical
manifestations). It has been confirmed in this proving, as well as in
others, that mental and physical symptoms form a corresponding unit and
the disease is reflected on different levels.
[hom_links - Monilia albicans] The aggression itself can be completely
hidden, but can also be very violent, almost driving the patient mad.
There may be an impulse to destroy everything, simply smash everything
to pieces. A typical expression of a prover (f): 'I feel such tremendous
aggression in me that I can hardly stand it. I have to mobilise all my
strength not to destroy something.'
[hom_links - Monilia albicans] Suppression (especially suppressed anger)
describes the central characteristic of the remedy, the more so as the
parasitic growth, e.g. of Candida albicans in the bowels, is
suppressive as well.
[hom_links - Monilia albicans] Another striking symptom is the
tremendous lack of energy of this remedy. (Is this a result of the
suppressed anger?)
--- FROM A proving report and a case by Marco riefer, germany.

with best wishes,
V.T.Yekkirala.

These are unusual symptoms but don't ignore the obvious - if the
perspiration from the rest of the body does not smell like dead flesh you
need to tactfully find out that the navel is actually clean - they can
harbour quite unsavoury debris. If this is the case it would render this
symptom useless.

Best, Joy

this is a case that needs little tact because of the openess of the
person. we discussed this issue openly. this woman is very
anxious about health and is medically oriented having been a
private duty nurse for many years. she easily volunteers information
about her body and her care of it. i have also worked with her
homeopathically in the past with success so she is quite open and
trusting in this aspect. she washed her navel several times quite
carefully but when she perspires from the navel, the smell is
quite horrific. we also discussed the toxicity that is being expelled
through the navel as a possibility.

but thanks for the thought--always. in other cases it could be
a delicate type of question to ask

28.5.4.
The navel thing has nothing to do with the cyst. The cyst is inborn and will
stay there forever. Maybe she has even more in the kidneys or liver or
pancreas or all of them, which then will be a different story.
The navel has a fistula and the fluid comes from the belly, where it normally
is (like oil in an engine). Probably she had some laparoscopy or some other
operation (umbilical hernia) and the scar is not water tight. Sometimes, it may
exist without prior intervention. Nothing should be done, homeopathically
(not possible) or allopathically. In some cases, if the fistula persists, ekzema
or fungus may develop and should be treated properly. Probably it already is
the case, if the secretion stinks. She should wash daily and keep high hygienic
standards and keep it dry with some bodypowder or so. "Less is more" - old
german saying. Kind regards, Dr. medic. Viorel V. Bucur (www.dr-bucur.com).
