Diseases and eating habits (was: silica/ marvellous homeopathy magic)

Hi,
I recently attended a seminar on "A Journey from I to WE"
conducted here by a local organization. One of the speakers
a HOD of Pathology in a corporate hospital related an
experiment conducted at one of the Research centers in USA.

A flock of 24 rabbits were divided into 2 groups and fed the same
food very high in cholesterol. One group was set apart in their
individual cages while the other group was allowed to live
in the house of the researcher, where they are allowed to roam
about freely as well as treated daily with lot of petting, kissing,
stroking their backs etc.,- in an atmosphere of love, caring and
intimacy. After the study period they were killed and their
examination revealed that while the individually kept rabbits
had significant deposits clogging up their arteries, the rabbits
kept at home had developed no deposits at all. Perhaps this suggests
there is more to it than the quality of food we eat. So I
thought of sharing this with the list in the hope that this
would generate further discussion on the appropriate rubrics
that may have to be considered apart from the story that the
pt is willing to tell us.

Wondering whether exercise could have played a part in this. Did the one in
cages get any exercise like the ones running around at home?

I am sure that this is a very important piece of 'science' for mankind. Pity
for the rabbits though, who themselves, at the end, may have learned a
little about the perfidy of man.
