Hi,

I'm just passing on the following info for anyone who might be interested, having had permission to crosspost.

It's an experience by someone who was prescribed Silica 1M. In fact, her and her dog was prescribed it by the vet John Hoare, who's been using homeopathy in his practice for 30+ years and is one of the most qualified homeopathic vets in the country. But she said he had written an article about people and their dogs often displaying the same symptoms, which is why he gave it to her as well; or may be he's very intuitive and just knew.

I have mentioned this before several times but, once again - I have heard of
and known at least 3 people who had to have root canals after Silica 1M.
Why? Probably too much, too soon and they couldn't take so much all at once.
The intensity of the remedy was no doubt trying to push the toxins in
(already damaged) teeth from the body and, unfortunately, it was pushing the
teeth along with it as, perhaps, they were in the way and/or they were
damaged to the point of being toxic and thus, "foreign" to the body. Better
to go low and slow, especially when in doubt.

I have read some of Jack Hoare's articles on this. He says that the fact
that, for instance, a large number of diabetic dogs come from families with
diabetics is proof of some kind of auric resonance between them, whereby the
animals "pick up on" the same diseases. This is a rather facile argument,
considering that in the UK there is a huge increase of diabetes both in
animals and humans because of bad diet (and probably other factors such as
vaccination, etc). Dogs share their living space with humans and are subject
to all the same stresses, bad diet, bad environment such as electromagnetic
pollution, etc. So they will tend to get the same toxicity and the same
illnesses quite often. It's a shame that when vets and doctors come into
homeopathy, quite a few of them start going all mystical and
right-brained...

Hi Allen,

In the couple of those cases that I heard about, it did sound likely that
the tooth was indeed already bad, and that the silica hadn't "created" a
problem in a healthy tooth, but had simply "brought to a head" a problem
that wasn't being dealt with -- in just the same way that it can bring out
expulsion of splinters etc. So, I wonder if going "low and slow" would have
simply led to the same result, more slowly? Don't know, but that was what
it sounded like to me...

Absolutely correct. I will never forget visiting with a man who had
developed diabetes and whose dog, strangely enough, had recently come down
with the same disorder. The man, who was about 75 pounds overweight, and his
dog, who was also visibly obese certainly resembled each other - in more

No, I think that going low and slow might have helped to resolve the issue
in a peaceful and progressive way and might have saved the teeth insread of
turning a chronic situation into a raging acute from which there was no
ready escape. Much has been written about the use of low potencies versus
high potencies and the different effects they have on the body. Off the top
of my head, I think of Dr. Colin Lessel's book, "Dental Homeopathy". That
would be an informative place to start if anyone would like to know about
such things.

My homeopath prescribed Silica 1m more than once because of recurring stitch
abscesses months after surgery (the stitches did not dissolve as they should
have done). I had no dental work or any other health problems following the
Silica, but it did solve the undissolved stitches issue.
