my goitre patient

Post by Rochelle »

My Goitre patient I have had on Lapis Al 6 3x a day for a few weeks now. The goitre has shrunk according to the patient and also according to my osteopath who she has been to see. However it is still much defined on the right side.

According to my osteopath who saw her yesterday the patient is suffering more hypothyroid Sx such as increased hair production, oedema, lowering of voice although her energy is better. The last Rx I gave her was Calc 200 and I am seeing her again on Tuesday. She says that her basal temperature is much lowered.

Ok what I am looking for is something to stop the hypothyroidism getting worse. She is taking kelp. She still hasn't started on thyroxin and she still after 6 weeks hasn't had the results of her biopsy!!!!

Has anyone any experiences of this problem and/or can anyone suggest which Rx to research now?

Regards
Rochelle

Dear Rochelle, for some reason I don't have the original notes from this
case.

I am imagining that if you have given calc carb it is obviously because she
resembles the calc carb sx picture, but if this rx isn't working then I
would be looking at Graphites as a possible remedy - goitre, hypothryroid,
plumpish and chilly, voice gets somewhat hoarse and deep - all typical sx of
a hypothyroid. It also follows on well from Calc carb.

I would advise her to stop taking the kelp, it can make things worse and it
would be better to start with a clean slate anyway.

Best, Joy

Dear Joy ,
The original notes I posted to the closed Homeopaths forum. I started with Sepia with this patient but basically it did nothing and her energy went down although IMO it was indicated. I followed with Calc as I could see this Rx as well and again it follows on well and from all accounts her energy has improved . Thanks for the Graphites suggestion which I will study before she comes in.

Dear Rochelle,
maybe you should give your patient Thyroidinum in a low potency; as D4, D6,
to stimulate the thyroidea to work better. Somtimes the constitutional
remedie can`t reech the organ in progresst stage of illness (advice from
J.C.Burnett).
I work in this manner with succes.

Thanks. I looked up Thyroidinum and honestly couldn't see it as a Rx for my patient. I gave her 1 dose of Calc 1M and she phoned the next day to say how much better she was feeling so here's hoping!! I can understand what you mean as an organ remedy but that is how she is taking the Lapis A which she is continuing.

This is an excellent point made by Trudy and is true in practice.

The problem is that I don't feel I can give 2 low potency Rx together and I want her to continue with the Lapis A. When I saw her I gave her Calc 1M and she phoned the next day to say how well she felt.
