help for a case, pls

Post by yerewan »

hi
i have this pt whose main complaint is asthma.
says his childhood was something that robbed him of all possibilities.
had a step-father who was extremely severe, you couldn't speak out your mind at his presence. you hardly had the courage to breath him being around.

the pt doesn't want any help from others, wants to prove that he can manage by himself.
and when he finally receives some he feels he's madly grateful for that person and must pay back as soon as possible.

very critical towards people around him and himself, too. his criticism isn't like he would burst out what terrible looking frock you're wearing, but more like about the quality of that person - how he/she is, how he thinks....and he likes company very much, very sociable a person, likes to get to know new people.

stabborn and conscientious , he goes to work even if ill, resulting nearly to collapse by the work .

he has a sensation that he's been made out of two unidentical pieces, vertically.
another sensation is that he feels that his spine is curving to the right, only when lying.
getting up and moving about ameliorates.
99% all his physical complaints are right-sided, he had even a section of his right lung removed when 2yrs old.

of course there's much more to this than just that what i wrote here, but i would like get some ideas of the rxs which pop up to peoples mind so i can work the case ahead.
many of the sxs mentioned here, i couldn't find in rep...maybe was looking at the wrong direction but...
he's got two rxs by now, which i won't tell cause i want to hear uninfluenced responses ; )
the rxs have done something but i'm not satisfied..neither of them is *the* rx for him.

yours sincerely and thank you,
william

two completely different rx 'pop' into my mind -

Silicea - delusions of being divided, because they are pulled in so many
directions, also spina bifida, sensitive spine, the vertebrae decay -
(sensation as if pulled to the right?), asthma, stubborn, conscientious

Stramonium shares this same delusion of being divided, has nervous asthma,
being a remedy of terrors which might link to his loss of childhood, has
ailments from fright, has drawing pain in the back (being pulled), spine
also very sensitive.

Why did he have a section of right lung removed?

Best, Joy

Hi,
I have interspersed your msg with the rubrics (RADAR) that
came to my mind while reading thro'

i have this pt whose main complaint is asthma.
says his childhood was something that robbed him of all possibilities.
had a step-father who was extremely severe, you couldn't speak out your
mind at his presence. you hardly had the courage to breath him being
around.

parental control; long history of excessive - harsh
upbringing

the pt doesn't want any help from others, wants to prove that he can
manage by himself.and when he finally receives some he feels he's madly
grateful for that person and must pay back as soon as possible.

someone has done something for him, he is bound to remember and return
the favour when the opportunity comes."- SANKARAN, Soul of Remedies)

isn't like he would burst out what terrible looking frock you're
wearing, but more like about the quality of that person - how he/she is,
how he thinks....and he likes company very much, very sociable a person,

seriously

he has a sensation that he's been made out of two unidentical pieces,
vertically.
another sensation is that he feels that his spine is curving to the
right, only when lying.

The remedies that merit a consideration are Kali-I, Ars, Thuj, and Carc
Finally you may like to read the following from Borland's MM
"Thuja patients are singularly well mannered; they are sensitive, polite
and grateful.
They do get depressed, the depression usually arising from a
consciousness that they are not doing everything that they ought to be
doing, or they are not progressing as fast as they ought to be with the
attention they are getting; or else they feel they are trouble to their
relatives because they require attention.
They are definitely impatient people.
They like things done fairly fast and get impatient with those who are
slow.
In the Thuja patients I have seen there has always been a tendency to
muddled thinking.
When talking to them they are very polite, and what to do all they can
to help.
They hunt for the exact word to tell their symptoms.
If they cannot find the exact word at first, they come back to it later
and say that is the word they wanted.
When writing letters they often complain that they miss words out or
misspell them, and it worries them.
This may become more marked and they begin to leave things undone.
An even more marked symptom in children is that they stop in the middle
of something because their attention wanders, and they have to be
constantly reminded to go on with what they are doing.
A fairly constant symptom is that, in spite of being affectionate, they
have a definite dislike of any contact with strangers.
They often shrink when anyone comes near, and do not want to be
touched.
This is accentuated if there is any mental breakdown; they feel
brittle, but even in the normal state they have this dislike of people
touching them.
They are very individualistic, but are not likely to make a mark in the
world, and they do not like to have their privacy imposed upon.
All Thuja patients are truthful and scrupulous in everything they do.
They are conscientious in the way they carry out anything they
undertake, even to the last detail, unless their attention wanders.
If it does and they omit something, they get very upset about it"

With best wishes,
V.T.Yekkirala.
