I have had hundreds of them all from people on the list - allegedly. They
are all virus attempts.

Hi all,
For curiosity, does anyone know what this is?
Did everyone on the list get it also? (It has minutus attachments etc., but
came with a "To" address of ) And I notice it
doesn't have "[Minutus]" in the header. ??
Thanks,
Shannon

Hi Venkat,
All this is pretty mysterious to me. Are you able to explain it any more, I
guess mostly for morbid curiosity? What sorts of problems could come from
it, or is it just something to be ignored, or ??
Thanks,
Shannon

Hi Jean and Steve,
Some viruses "harvest" e-mail addresses to use as (bogus) "sent-by"
addresses, as well as for "send to" addresses. I've recently started
getting a trickle of error messages telling me that "this e-mail could not
be sent because..." (errors in the address, I think) -- but the e-mails were
ones that I had *not* sent, and to addresses that I have never seen before.
My ISP said these are presumably bounced results of a virus's efforts, that
my addresses had been "harvested", and that the virus is not necessarily (in
fact is not) coming from my own computer. In other words (sigh) things
ain't always what they seem...
SO -- if you get an attachment you are not expecting -- EVEN FROM SOMEONE
YOU KNOW -- don't open it without first asking the person if they really
sent it!

Shannon
