grand mal - pregnancy

Hello everyone,

would appreciate help with patient whom I feel needs to be handled very carefully.
Story I am told includes
Pregnant 6-7 mths, age 34, 2nd child.
marijuana smoker for a few years or so.and still smoking it now.
Extremely stressful childhood. Abandoned in street as child by mother. In foster care a year or so then father found - lived in his physical abusive care til left home to fend for self age 13. Says has no hangups! Has very positive attitude.Smoked same thru previous preg. Also smokes cigs. 6 a day now.
Has sclerosis of hippocampus, right side, from injury.

Fear of pain
says pain threshhold is nil
problems with authority and trust
Fear of losing herself
urination 4am in pregnancy
no tolerance for those who wallow in their misery
Drs think a drink was spiked as found amphetamines in blood a few months ago
was having fits every hr, passing out [not convulsive] hyperventilating. Was hot.
had grand mal in emergency room
patient says drs said fits were possibly from anxiety, epilepsy or heroin. She doesn't use heroin.
fits short 30sec
could hear but not see
lost control of bladder
Now taking tegretol 300mg am & pm
Has had 5 or so grand mals in last few mths. Last 2 mths ago.
During last attack
lost memory
numb feeling ascending from feet
passes out
sometimes attacks just before sleep
breathing stops - usually 30 secs
sometimes dripping hot perspiration although can't feel it
last attack on waking felt like someone was 'sticking knives in back of calves'
likes chocolate

I am reluctant to prescribe past some nutrients without your input.

Dear Beverley

1- Please ensure she is not taking anything with ASPARTAME in it. eg 'diet'
coke etc and anything marked 'reduced sugar' or 'sugar-free'.

2- Although you seem to have a fair set of symptoms on which to work, while
she is smoking marijuana you are probably not getting a true picture of the
patient.
She really needs to stop taking this drugs. You may need to take the case
after she has been off it for a month. Prescribe the indicated remedy in LM
form.

3- If you think that amphetamines have caused her seizures - that is to say
she NEVER had a seizure before the supposedly spiked drink (some how my
heart is not warming to the idea that her drink was spiked) then you may
consider giving amphetamine (do you know which?) in potency (This is of
course isopathy and not homoeopathy - I hope I do not offend any one).

4- When the patient is clear of the drugs then you can re-check to see
whether the original remedy is still indicated.

5- After birth you need to keep an eye on the baby too.

Yes, we have had the discussion about softdrinks, sweeteners, aspartame etc.
She says she is not having any of those things now - maybe did previously.

I agree that the marijuana is clouding the picture but the undealt with
emotions and rejection of authority are contributing to the marijuana
smoking. Catch 22 situation.

I am also of a like mind about the likelihood of the drink being spiked,
although one can not say that to a patient. There is no identification of a
particular amphetamine.

I feel that I will stay with nutrient support until she is free of the
drugs, if she does so.
