Rx ideas?

Post by Rochelle »

I have a patient who I have not seen since August who is getting PMT AFTER menses. (There are only a few rx which don't appeal to me) She feels unsociable, insular and insecure about herself. Can also get a crazy feeling. Also she has recently begun to sweat from the axillae which smells strong and this happens whenever she exerts itself even just walking the kids to school. Her hands are extremely dry. I have given her Calc 200 as she has responded to that well in the past for the itch in her ears which she also has but all these other symptoms are new. She used to get relief from a her pre menstrual syndrome by taking a couple of Sepia 30 a month. Could she have put the Pre symptoms to Post menstrual symptoms from this? She has 2 young children and a baby and if about to give up her part time job because financially she is worse off because of the child care. She feels directionless.

Rochelle

Have you considered Aristolochia which was discussed recently. But then
there are many rx which are <<< after menses. Graphites, Lil tig, Lach,
Zinc, Ferrum, (just trying to fit with what you write).

How deep is this case, possibly it is just taking a long time to shift sx.
What is this 'crazy feeling' all about? Why does she feel directionless?

Best, Joy

Dear Rochelle

To add to Joy's observations; could she simply be demonstrating a Sepia
proving response. Taking Sepia "a couple of times a month" for how long???

Certanly Sepia has "poverty issues", strong-smelling sweat in the axilla,
and usually a couple of small children and a baby in tow!

regards
Patricia

I haven't considered Arist. but I will look at it , thanks Joy. How deep is the case? That to me is a difficult one because although I had treated her husband for many months and the kids, I first saw her when she was last pregnant and that child is now 10 months old. Re the crazy feeling it, we discussed this and it is a delusion that she is insane type of thing. In fact she actually said that she imagines going completely insane with hormonal changes when she goes through menopause. She feels directionless because she is finishing her job and will restart work when the baby is at school but doesn't know what she wants to retrain to do. Her present job is lecturing in ceramics.

Hi Patricia,

This is exactly what I was wondering hence my question to that effect!! I wondered if anyone else thought the same. Maaaybe the Calc will get her back on track. This family is one who don't wish to make follow up appointments but wish to phone and see me when they are ready to/need to. I spent quite a time explaining why I need to have her back after a month to check exactly what the Calc had done. I have also insisted on having one of the kids back after a month as I have giving him a different remedy this time to tackle the jealousy that he as a middle child has exhibited since the new baby and has remained there despite various Rx I have given him since the new arrival. He is the most restless child I have ever seen. No wonder mum is worn down.

I also wondered whether she could simply be proving the sepia. Twice a
month for a 30 seems to me like too much...

I think a time line is important to assess where and when these feelings
began, just so as to see how the Sepia fits in - if it all occurred before
the Sepia then probably safe to think the Sepia has not damaged the case.

Anyway, have a look also at Cimic which has fear of going insane through
menopause and would seem to fit other aspects of what you have written.

I think it has occurred since the baby, and since she was taking Sepia 30 to get her through her PMT before menses. Cimic is a good one to look at - Thanks
