Help with study of bio-chem

Dr. J. Rozencwajg, MD, PhD., had the following kind advise concerning study
of bio-chem and physiology. We exchanged email, but with his permission,
his words may benefit other students. I wrote in response to his feeling
that we non-MD's need some of the doctor's background.

I am wondering what is meant by his comments below on Vermeulen "the most
material aspect... to what they are able to cause physically without the
interference of a prover.

Actually Vermeulen has gone back to that most material aspect. Read his MM
in Prisma, you will see what it means: he analyses remedies according to
what they are able to cause physically in the body without interference of a
prover.

Scholten has the same approach but he has taken it to psychological level.

Definitely analyzing the uses and effects of minerals and other substance at
the cellular level will give you insight into the remedy; also look it
through the Biochemic Salts (although this is outdated physiology). You
might also want to read the Indian book: Universal Mineral Materia Medica by
Jain and Trivedi (Jain publishers).

It would be helpful though, while you do that, to read in parallel a good
physiology textbook in order to understand the mechanisms; I suggest the
Textbook of Physiology by Guyton; it is well written, easy to read and there
are quite a few copies on sale at Ebay dirt cheap. For biochemistry, look up
Lehninger, I have fond memories of it..........
