Dear Jean, the Pulsatilla a day case was a mess - a mixture of text book
Pulsatilla sx (which she didn't have at the beginning of her self treating)
and a picture that was beginning to look like Calc sulph. My Rx for her was
nothing and she phones every few days to let me know what's happening. I am
unlikely to prescribe until the picture has stabilised or becomes too
uncomfortable for her.

I too would like to hear of instances where real harm has been done.
Certainly Joy¹s experience of someone taking Pulsatilla every day would not
be advised by any trained practitioner. I am wondering what was the

Dear Group members,

My wife is into the eighth month of her pregnancy
(31st week) and the gynaec. has diagnosed her with
slightly excessive amniotic fluid thus cramping the
child and prolapse of the cord. I request anyone on
the group who might have experience with such a
situation to suggest remedies. Pulsatilla is said to
have the power to set right the position of a baby
that is showing breech presentation. Do you think
Pulsatilla would help in setting right the prolapse
too? I am more worried about the prolapse than about
the amniotic fluid, as it might force a premature
C-section. This is our first child and hence i am very
worried. I would be very grateful to anyone who can
help. Her constitutional is Lachesis.

Hi Rajiv,

I don't know of specific treatments, but my first thought would be to
approach this thru the overall picture. Is she having any symptoms, any
sort of discomfort or other changes? When did she last have a dose of lach,
what potency does she usually take, and did it work as expected?

In my limited experience, the needs of the baby can be reflected in the
mother's symptom picture; this is what I'd look at first.

Throughout the pregnancy, she had the complaint of a
slightly hard uterus. She also had bouts of belching
of gas, specially during the night.Worse after
midnight. Asafoetida normally relieved her of her
acute gastric troubles. But even when her stomach was

Right now she is quite amiable and her jealousy is
much less. Only trouble is the hard uterus and
occasional bouts of gastric, specially during night.
