As a way of seeing what issues they resonate with, I can see it would be
useful.

Re: QUESTION on Diabetes - Insulin-Dependent
Hi Sherri
When I was a student Homeopath I treated a friend who had been insulin
dependent for 5 or 6 years.
He was in his early 40's. IIRC he had - FH cancer, HO glandular fever,
multiple Greif, anxiety over changes at work, low energy thirst for fizzy drinks
etc.
Carcinosin and phos ac both seemed indicated.
I warned him to carefully monitor his insulin levels during the treatment.
I started with Carc 6c TDS, no noticeable affect.
after a month I changed him to phos ac 6 tds. The first night after the
change of remedy he obviousley started producing more insulin. He had given himself
his usual night time dose of Insulin and had gone Hypoglycaemic.
I saw this as a very positive indication that the treatment was working, but
my 'patient' told everyone that I had nearly killed him and never touched
another homeopathic remedy.

Oh Jeremy - how tragic for one of your first experiences and with a friend!
Its too bad he didn't continue to work with you, taking that into account.
Amazing that it was so fast, wasn't it - probably surprised even you.
But it must have been scary for him too.
But it sounds like you may have been onto something.
Thanks for sharing that

Re: QUESTION on Diabetes - Insulin-Dependent
For years, I've been researching obesity, insulin resistance, and type II diabetes. I've been on Glucophage with no side effects, but it didn't help the other symptoms of type II diabetes.
Although the isopathic sarcode/nosode homeopathic remedies I took haven't done a lot for my weight problem, the other side effects have gone away. All the dark discoloration under arms have left. One day, I took my Glucophage medication, and nearly went into diabetic shock! I was in bed for two days! I realized that I didn't need the medication any longer, and that overall, my insulin sensitivity has returned.... Now, if I can just lose this weight!

Re: QUESTION on Diabetes - Insulin-Dependent
Dr. Hamer teaches that diabetes is an issue of 'being forced into doing
something I don't want to do!' ie I have a patient that got off the
delivery table with Type 1 when she was forced to keep her legs together
until the doctor got there to deliver the baby - she really wanted to push
at that time to get the baby out! another patient of mine a young boy at
the time was 12 was forced (raped) into anal sex came down with Type 1
shortly after. lisa

Re: QUESTION on Diabetes - Insulin-Dependent
What remedies did you take Ruby, to gain this result?
Thanks,
Alva

Re: QUESTION on Diabetes - Insulin-Dependent
To add to whatever remedies jennifer might suggest, I have used helonias,
arg met, calc phos and colchicum with excellent results. But each case has
to be looked at individually.
Not sure what the problems would be in choosing a remedy - take the case and
prescribe the similimum. Sometimes the longer the person has been on insulin
the longer it takes. Sometimes organ support remedies are needed as
intercurrents and the client really needs to stick with it.

Re: QUESTION on Diabetes - Insulin-Dependent
Sorry to weigh in so late. It appears to me that
during this conversation people have been confusing
the types of diabetes. The current conventional names
for the main two types of diabetes are:
type I diabetes (which used to be called type II
diabetes)
type II diabetes (which used to be called adult-onset
diabetes)
Conventionally, while both types can produce the same
symptoms and complications, they have different
starting points. These starting points are significant
for alternative treatment of people with these
conditions: type I means the doctors consider an
autoimmune response triggered the diabetes. Type II
means factors such as stress, weight, genetics, and
exercise have created a situation where there is
insulin - often enough or too much insulin - in the
body, but the cells can't use it correctly. These are
two very different disease triggers and paths. In
terms of homoeopathy, this is quite important
miasmatically.
There is no age link that dictates which type of
diabetes. Currently there is an epidemic of type II
diabetes amongst children in the United States, linked
to poor diet and no exerise. I was diagnosed with type
I diabetes at the age of 27. Indeed, I have met people
who were incorrectly diagnosed as type II based on
older disease classifications, because these people
were 'too old' to be type I.
Also, saying someone is on insulin is, I think, a
minor point in terms of constitutional treatment. It
tells us nothing about the disease path. It may
actually be telling us that someone with type II
diabetes has an enlightened/aggressive/ignorant
doctor, depending on context. Someone with type II
diabetes may very well be on a multiple daily
injection insulin regime for 20 years, preceeded by
years of one or two shots a day. But they still have
type II diabetes even though they superficially appear
to be type I.
