rubric help/smoking

Post by Jayne Evans ae »

Can anyone help me find a rubric that may cover red pustules appearing
on the skin after giving up smoking?
Thanks Jayne

Dear Jayne,

I had a patient a couple of years ago who wanted to
quit smoking but was having problems doing so.
Everytime he would quit smoking he would have problems
such as headaches, insomnia, depressing thoughts etc.
He also had a history of warts on the genitals. I
cured him with Caladium Seguinum. You can study this
Rx for your case. I hope it helps.

My first prescription will be placebo for about a
month till the withdrawal is complete. This is the
body's own sigh of relief and best not tampered with.
If the situation persists, then you may intervene.

I developed a severe coryza, sneezing, a headache from
10 to 4 pm and pustules on the dorsum of feet when I
quit smoking. I suffered like this for two months.

Even coffee withdrawal caused severe bilious nausea.
Only when it spiralled out of control, I took ipecac
200.

You may not need a rubric. It may be just that the body is trying to heal
itself after the insult of daily cigarettes has ceased and is expelling the
disease through the skin. Or, the cigarettes may have just suppressed the
natural tendency for skin eruptions in this person and now the body is free
to expel poisons, etc. through the skin. If so, then, if it ain't broke,
don't fix it.

Hi Allen
I know this is part of a chronic picture. She has had these vesicles
before when she gave up smoking and they went away when she started
again. The first time they appeared was nearly 20 years ago after a
reaction to some allopathic wart treatment. I have explained that it may
be a sign that her body is healing from the smoking and that to really
deal with it I would need to take a full case but I don't think she is
really interested. I don't quite know how to get the point across and
she is a work colleague so may not want to disclose a lot of stuff to
me. So I'm not prescribing anyway. The vesicles are very itchy and
painful so this is why she wants rid of them, I've tried repping on the
lesions but of course I'm not really getting anywhere without the full
picture. Knowing her a bit, every remedy I read about in the MM doesn't
seem to suit.
But in light of the recent discussions on how to educate the public to
the benefits of homeopathy, I feel I'm failing in this regards as well.

Jayne - You are not failing. She is failing - to understand. Today I saw a
person who has eczema all over her face and body. She claimed adamantly when
I first mentioned homeopathy to her about 2 years ago that she had tried it
but, it didn't work. Of course, I knew that she didn't have any idea of what
she was talking about but, she was closed to the idea and it was not my
place to push it on her. I knew that some day, when she got tired of living
with it, she would learn about homeopathy. When I saw her today, she
complained about her problem and again, I mentioned homeopathy. She said,
"Oh, I tried that. That's herbs, right?" I corrected her and told her to go
home and do a Google search for "homeopathy" and, IF she wants to know more,
she could see me about it. Today, she agrred to do the search. Before, she
dismissed the idea. In short, it is not my job to badger people into trying
homeopathy or anything else. If anyone wants my help, I will offer it but, I
am not going to chase anyone down about it. She will be back. She has to.
There is no other system that can remove the eczema from her. I am confident
of this. I am confident in myself. I am confident in what I know. I do not
cast my pearls before swine. Nor, should you.

Allen
