Hello. i was wondering what the difference is between holistic
medicine and homeopathic medicine, specifically.
Also, where would be the best place(s) to look into obtaining a
masters degree in either homeopathic medicine or in holistic medicine.

At the risk of seeming brusque and short, I'd suggest that you do
some reading about the subjects before posting such a question.
The answer is long and involved. It is like asking "what is the
difference between chemistyry and physics."
Check some homeopathic web sites. http://www.homeopathioc.org has a
good description.
Do your homework.
THEN ask more.
Find out the answers to the differences before you ask about this one!

Re: Holistic vs. homeopathic
simply put, the term holistic is an umbrella term that basically referrs to considering
the whole human/body system when diagnosing/treating a person. the term encompasses
many different healing protocols, including homeopathy. homeopathy is a very specific
protocol with a core philosophy that guides it's practice. it is quite unique.

Re: Holistic vs. homeopathic
Hi Kristen,
Holistic medicine simply means that "symptoms" are not treated in isolation
(aspirin for a headache, antihistamine for a stuffy nose, etc.), but instead
the person *as a whole* is treated, in order to strengthen and integrate
their mind/body, and remove symptoms by removing the weakness that caused
them. There are many types of holistic/wholistic medicine, e.g. homeopathy,
chinese medicine, naturapathy, chiropractic, herbology, and etc. (And any
of these methods can be done either more or less holistic way, depending
upon the skill and training of the practitioner.)
To find out about homeopathy, the best place to start would probably be with
some books -- check a health food store book section, or your library (if
the hoemopathy book you pick up looks incomprehensible, then it's not
introductory level -- put it back and try again!) There are a bunch of good
titles that you can probably find pretty easily.
Happy reading!
