Taro-Improper rx/changed picture

Post by Shannon Nelson »

Just a "what do I do here" question:
The first dose of Op. 30 produced very good apparent effect, but lasted less
than a day. Second dose produced violent headache, overall worsening. Now
(approx five days after that second dose, no remedies since) the upset from
the second dose is gone, but the picture is changed:

The Op helped with nightmares, hallucinations, and violent temper swings
(which hadn't been described to me before, tho I saw some weepiness). She
describes a long list of woes; most appear to be straightforward withdrawal,
but also describes some pretty specific stomach/appetite issues which
apparently have either begun or worsened since the Op., and here's my main
question:

Whereas before the Op she was having violent moods -- e.g. 45 minute wild
crying jag; becoming *angry* with her daughter, says it felt like her head
would pop, and a wild feeling; feeling of heat in her head.
But now, by contrast, when I ask "Emotionally, how are you feeling"?
She says, " No. I'm not having any feelings. Before the Op. I was having
up, down, explosive feelings, but now I feel kind of grey, sort of
depressed, but sort of flat. Every now and then I'll [start to get weepy]
about stuff - mostly [her ex who is in trouble] -- but mostly I feel flat,
monotone. Kind of dopey."

My assumption is that this is a suppressed state, a negative side-effect of
a wrong remedy. I assume I should still try to rep the specific physical
sxs that have begun in the past days? And I assume I should include the
wild mood swings that were present before, and not necessarily rep the
"flat", monotone state she describes now?

Thanks again,
Shannon

Ooooooh, was my first reaction to reading this but that isn't very helpful
is it? :-))

You really have to make sure you are getting a full case here - if she was
having violent temper swings and you weren't told, how can you prescribe
accurately. Make it clear that this is the predicament t you are in - you
cannot help her if she doesn't tell you everything. Yes, discuss these
violent feelings with her to get an idea about what was going on, but you
cannot really include them now if they have definitely passed on to some
other state.

You cannot assume that her present state is a suppressed state, neither that
it has arrived due to a wrong remedy. Take the whole case again, go over ALL
the information you have with her and 'sift' - get the clearest picture you
can. If the M/E symptoms are unreliable then concentrate on the physicals -
better still to make sure the M/E symptoms ARE reliable - you have to
include the present state, maybe that wild feeling is still there but in a
quiet mode, like Lil tig or Cimic etc.

Also ask of yourself and the case whether a remedy is necessary - the case
might still be moving, don't rush into prescribing another remedy on a
partial case. There is a lot going on in this case but it doesn't mean you
cannot find a remedy to cover to whole of it.

best, Joy

Dear Shannon,

There is discussed in aph 288 and 289 of organon a healing technique,
whereby, the lifeforce of a healthy person is
transferred to the sick. hahnemann says the energy of the healer is
given. But, indian and oriental healing systems such as the pranic
healing, bypass this. The healer borrows from the energy of the
universe.
The procedure is thus.
1. Sit comfortably. ( add a table spoon of salt to a litre of water
and keep the vessel to your right side)
2. Rub both your palms vigorously for ten seconds.
3. Now keep both palms an inch apart. feel the tingle of the rub give
way to a new heat going from left to right. 20 seconds.
4.Now, turn the right palm skyward and tell thrice that you are
drawing energy from the vast universe which is abundant.
5. Focus, the right palm to your patient. Keep the palm an inch or so
apart her body From head to foot. Stopping at all vital organs esp at
the diseased organ.(note: This technique can also be practiced in the
absence of the
patient. Fot this you must imagine profoundly the patient with your
eyes closed and apply the life energy as you would normally do.)
6.Now, spread your fingers towards the patient and from head to foot
give vertical stroke as if the combing the air in front still not
touching her. Do it many times. This is to remove congestion of energy
in any organ and to make it equal all over.(same for absent healing,
but with eyes closed)
7. Now, point your hand towards the salt water vessel and make flicks
towards it as if you are throwing off the diseased energy into the
water.
8. If you want, you can repeat the steps 5,6& 7 again and again till
you feel you have done the job.
9. Wash off your hands thoroughly with water or new salt water. The
water in the vessel has to be discarded.
10. An additional benefit will arise when the receiver is asked to
calm down
and repeat her faourable hymn and be in a receptive mental state. If
she is
too agitated, simply proceed with your healing.
11. If by chance, you feel tired after healing, at once sit on a
meditating posture and start deep breathing esp abdiominal breathing.
Other means include going out into the garden and touching huge trees
(spare the small ones)and mentally saying that you are replacing the
lost energy by the surplus energy of the tree. You should feel
replenished.
12. When healing loved ones, before healing imagine yourself cutting
of an imaginary thread of affection with them and then proceed to
heal.

Believe this is useful. All the best.
Regards
Venkat.

p.s the aph 288 and 289 are here.
§ 289 Fifth Edition
Every part of our body that possesses the sense of touch is also
capable of receiving the influences, and of propagating their power
to all other parts.1

1 A patient even destitute of the sense of smell may expect an
equally perfect action and cure from the medicine by olfaction.

§ 289 Sixth Edition
All the above-mentioned methods of practicing mesmerism depend upon
influx of more or less vital force into the patient, and hence are
termed positive mesmerism.1 An opposite mode of employing mesmerism,
however, as it produces just the contrary effect, deserves to be
termed negative mesmerism. To this belong the passes which are used
to rouse from the somnambulic sleep, as also all the manual processes
known by the names of soothing and ventilating. This discharge by
means of negative mesmerism of the vital force accumulated to excess
in individual parts of the system of undebilitated persons is most
surely and simply performed by making a very rapid motion or the flat
extended hand, held parallel to, and about an inch distant from the
body, from the top of the head to the tips of the toes.2 The more
rapidly this pass is made, so much the more effectually will the
discharge be effected. Thus, for instance, in the case where a
previously healthy woman,3 from the sudden suppression of her
catamenia by a violent mental shock, lies to all appearance dead, the
vital force which is probably accumulated in the precordial region,
will, by such a rapid negative pass, be discharged and its
equilibrium throughout the whole organism restored. So that the
resuscitation generally follows, immediately.4 In like manner, a
gentle, less rapid, negative pass diminishes the excessive
restlessness and sleeplessness accompanied with anxiety sometimes
produced in very irritable persons by a too powerful positive pass,
etc.

1 When I here speak of the decided and certain curative power of
positive mesmerism, I most assuredly do not mean that abuse of it,
where, by repeated passes of this kind, continued for half an hour or
a whole hour at a time, and, even day after day, performed on weak,
nervous patients, that monstrous revolution of the whole human system
is effected which is termed somnambulism, wherein the human being is
ravished from the world of sense and seems to belong more to the
world of spirits - a highly unnatural and dangerous state, by means
of which it has not infrequently been attempted to cure chronic
diseases.

2 It is a well known rule that a person who is either to be
positively or negatively mesmerised, should not wear silk on any part
of the body.

3 Hence a negative pass, especially if it be very rapid, is extremely
injurious to a delicate person affected with a chronic ailment and
deficient in vital force.

4 A strong country lad, ten years of age, received in the morning, on
account of slight indisposition, from a professed female mesmeriser,
several very powerful passes with the points of both thumbs, from the
pit of the stomach along the lower edge of the ribs, and he instantly
grew deathly pale, and fell into such a state of unconsciousness and
immobility that no effort could arouse him, and he was almost given
up for dead. I made his eldest brother give him a very rapid negative
pass from the crown of the head over the body to the feet, and in one
instance he recovered his consciousness and became lively and well.
