Dear Ingrid
Thank you for your comments and observations regarding some of the possible environmental triggers associated with MS.
Did you see yesterday's Lyghtforce post that mentioned a study linking MS to measles vaccination(among other things)? Environmental and pyschological triggers are no doubt various and play an important part in trying to decide how best to avoid this disease.
However as Homoeopaths we know that susceptibility is the basic cause of disease and my original post on this subject was with this factor in mind, as western medical research has observed that in countries where breastfeeding is the norm (ie babies are breastfed for over 2 years) MS rates are low and it is thought to be due to the quality of the myelin laid down in infancy.
The women of Norway are to be congratulated if breastfeeding rates are still "universal" at 6 months. As a nation you are way in front of the rest of the western world where by 3 months most women have weaned their babies. However, the CNS is still very much developing still at 6 months and maturation is not complete until 3 years. There's a big difference here and most babies, sadly, are denied the chance to optimise CNS function by having human milk as an integral part of their diet well into toddler-hood.
It must be acknowledgred that women generally are simply not going to breastfeed for as long as babies possibly need but that doesn't mean that human milk post-weaning is not a possibility. If the will and where-withal was there the pasteurisation of human milk and the manufacture of formula from human milk is a possibility and we'd be all better off both from an economic and health perspective.
My point is, that since this is not happening, we can step into the breach and use Lac-h in physiological doses to make up the shortfall. This can be done by going up gradually in the LM range or using Lac-h in potencies below 12C over time.
This discussion is hypothetical. However, from what I know of the benefits of human milk and because research has suggested that there is a possible connection between low breastfeeding rates and MS, it is worth a try; environmental triggers notwithstanding.
best wishes
