Hi, Shannon,
By "more aggressive" I meant giving the dose more frequently that I'm used
to doing (i.e., once every two weeks) for two months instead of one. I did
not, however, follow Dr. Ramakrishnan's habit of giving a "split dose"
(i.e., four doses in a single day = one dose). Haven't gotten my nerve up
for that yet.
As far as what led me to the remedy, it was largely intuition. Imagine one
of those malnourished kids with scabby skin, dull hair, and a big
potbelly -- well, this patient looks like a grown-up version. She's weary,
has to lie down all the time, can't tolerate tight clothes, is irritated by
everything, and has a decided stubborn or obstinate streak. Very much like
Silica, but Silica had helped only partially. Sanicula is also prone to
misconstruing things, esp. things other people do for them. I haven't seen
this in my dealings with her, but I've inferred it from some of her dealings
with others.
Does this help?
Peace,
Cinnabar

Query - in the US, 'qd' = (once) each day and 'qid' = 4 x a day
Is it the same in the UK?
I remember a lecture I attended in med school where an English
professor and students misunderstood each other as PID = pelvic
inflammatory disease in the US but something very different in the UK.

Re: A Sanicula Experience
Yup, thanks!
But I think part of my question wasn't clear. I recognized what you meant
by "more aggressive", but I wondered whether you had reason to think that
this "aggressiveness" was a necessary part of her transformation, or whether
it was simply the needed remedy, or whether there was any special reason
that you went (?) to the new remedy and the new posology at the same time?
Just curious!
Thanks,
Shannon

Shannon,
Simply put, I felt she needed a new remedy; I was curious if a more
aggressive dosing schedule might be beneficial to her; and I very much
wanted to strengthen her before the colds/flu season set in.
Peace,
Cinnabar

Re: A Sanicula Experience
Not if you have access to older remedies. Many of the higher
potencies were made from the original and B&T was still using them
into the 1980s-- so I wouldn't be surprised if Ainsworths' in the UK
(who had many of the B&T remedies) still has the stock. I know I have
both 6X and 12X trit tablets that came from B&T. In theory I could
use the 6X to make a liquid 8X (4C), and we'd be off and running with
original source material.
I know that Washington Homeopathic in the USA has original material.
