It is something that I have done regularly, although now I tend to use
Oscilococchinum in preference. For people who go down with lots of colds,
'flu, chest infestions during the winter month it provides quite amazing
protection. It works well. I usually suggest that they take it once monthly
during the winter months.

I would rather they take this 'off-the-shelve' remedy than use the 'flu
vaccination. It is more effective, safe, and certainly far gentler.

However, I usually tell them that if they are going down regularly with
infections suggests that they have a susceptibility that might require
deeper constitutional treatment.

Is Oscilococchinum remedy? I don't see in Materia Medica. Please let me know the detail about this.

How does prophylactic prescribing fit into homeopathic philosophy, i.e.
prescribing on a symptom picture which does not exist? Oscillococcinum
abates an influenza which has already began, so it has an overall symptom
picture.

My opinion -- No!!!
I'd be willing for once a season *if* the patient asked, or seemed
particularly at risk, but aside from that the only "precaution" I ever use
for self or family or anyone else under ordinary circumstances, is maintain
good health, use good sense, and treat things as they come up. Obviously if
someone is particularly at risk (i.e. the "good health" part is not
immediately achievable), it could indeed make sense to use "precautions".

That's my 2 cents.
Cheers,
Shannon

"are you suggesting they are collecting sx from people at large? their
website
doesnt seem to have a request for such information."

So far, it's just the students sharing information. However, if you use
the contact info on the website, Willa may have more information about
collecting or sharing the results so far.

Not sure who you were referring to. In reference to the NCH-- It
will. They are working on it.
