Flu Sxs

Post by Kenneth L. Silvestri »

Hello List,

Has anyone compiled or heard of a list of sxs from the current flu that is
on the west coast of the USA for a preventive rx. There is a run on the
flu vaccine (and a lot of fear) here in New Jersey.

Sincerely,
Ken

Hi, Ken.

The few people I've run into with it -- including myself and my partner --
had a lot of postnasal congestion dripping down into the throat and causing
a hacking cough and slight throat pain. There was a brief period of intense
malar pain from sinuses. Also a brief period of GI distress -- nausea plus
diarrhea plus abdominal cramping. The most notable aspect of it for
everyone has been that every day it seems like a different disease -- like
pursuing a will o the wisp (which of course we realized only in hindsight.).
Each days' symptoms were different from the preceding day, came on quickly
and very intensely, disappeared mostly by afternoon and were gone fully by
the next day, when the next manifestation was in full swing. If we'd started
out with the notion of changeable symptoms or metastasis, we might have been
able to find a genus epidemicus, but not knowing that, we didn't. Causticum
was mildly helpful, as was Kali-i. (at least we got over it all in four days
instead of 3 weeks -- those who took the remedies). Earlier there was a
stomach flu thing with vomiting and diarrhea that responded beautifully to
Arsenicum, both for treatment and for prophylaxis within families for about
100 people all connected through the one church that my patient belonged to.

Hope that helps a little. Rosemary

very interesting. i got sick last week. had been coughing incessantly w/increasing
intensity until it suddenly went deep into my lungs. dry, incessant cough with burning
in the upper right lung. mullein tea loosened the cough up but it was impossible to
bring any discharge up. the sx kept changing. each day a new location. i finally
rep'd the case and settled on kali s which was available locally. the tickling in the
trachea ceased immediately and within hours the lungs stopped producing this
annoying, rattling mucous. the hoarseness is still present but is leaving quickly.

i guess i had a version of the current 'flu.'

One of my neighbors presented the following Sx after 7 days of being sick (she did not tell us that she was ill at
first) - so we found her nauseated but no other intestinal-type Sx so she was weak & dehydrated from not wanting to
take anything nutritionally, not even water - plus she presented with a green-thick-mucous nasal congestion and
throbbing pain between the eyes with post nasal drip causing a dry cough/sore upper throat & very
whiney-oh-poor-me-ish & very sensitive to everything touch...

We gave Puls 30C and within 10 minutes she was voracious, ate a huge meal and felt so much better and regained
strength and began slowly re-hydrating and passed a single loose stool...

then the nasal mucous loosened and the post nasal drip increased to an uncomfortable level so Ars 30C was
prescribed and all of the mucous symptoms slowly cleared completely away over the next 2 days...

The patient says that she "always" gets "headache/nasal" Sx and it does not go to her chest ever and it did not
this time either... So does it depend on the "strain" or is it the individual susceptibility?

best Patti

Hello Tanya, can you please spell out the full name of the medicine, for the
benefit of the list?

I havent seen much. Here in the San Francisco Bay area, they havent made
their way to me yet. It starts with a cold. I had one person with a bad
cough ...typical Spongia sound and Spongia helped her initially and again
for her relapse. She tried to work through her illness.

Would love to hear from others.

The students at Caduceus Institute in northern California are just at the
beginning of collecting info for a genus epidemicus. The website is

Can you pass the info to the National Center for Homeopathy? They are
getting lots of request, and don't have any info. write to
nch@homeopathic.org.
Thanks!

are you suggesting they are collecting sx from people at large? their website
doesnt seem to have a request for such information.
