Rochelle's CP and PP case
Re: Rochelle's CP and PP case
Agreed - but it was thought that this was to do with the fact that she had nothing on her bottom rather than the fire that was the meaning of the (!!) . Sorry if I didn't make that clear and thanks for getting back so quickly.

Re: Rochelle's CP and PP case
I am stunned to think you are asking this - the second question, that is.
Where you start in the case is up to how you see it before you. You can
either see a remedy for the whole case or you can't. If you can't then you
might have to peel back the layers. As the PP is in the forefront, in as
much as this is a developing state, an active state then I, personally would
begin with that. Others might go far beyond that and being with possible
causation factors of the CP. There are many ways of going about this.
Personally, I think you run into problems if you take the layered approach
and then jump and bring a buried layer to the forefront before its time.
Does it matter? You bet it does. If it doesn't matter then give her every
nosode or any old remedy under the sun and sit back and wait.

Ok I accept that BUT which part of the case too start with is the question.
Also will it matter in the long run?

Re: Rochelle's CP and PP case
I still think there's a unity to this case, in that, as I've understood it,
this child was genetically normal, and was severely damaged by asphyxia
during the birth process. I really liked Patricia's perspective that as a
result her spirit has not been able fully to inhabit her body. Be that as it
may, since the causation appears clear, it seems IMHO that it should figure
fairly prominently in the case analysis. Then the strongest most peculiar
symptoms and the strongest modalities together should lead to a remedy or a
very small group of remedies. Certainly the premature puberty is rather
peculiar, as is her apparent contentment with the situation, that Joy has
remarked upon -- happy and passive. In my experience, although this period
of remedy searching can be intensely frustrating, it really pays off to put
in the grunt work and keep looking until the most important aspects of the
case become crystal clear along with the remedy that covers it. We're with
you, Rochelle, in that process!

Re: Rochelle's CP and PP case
Sorry I exasperated you Joy. I agree it was a daft comment!! What I see is the lifeless child that needs awakening and I suppose by saying that I mean Opium. Maybe what you have now done is to clear this up for me. I don't see the prepubescent puberty. It is not something that is bothering the child but the mother. However I will not be giving a remedy like that until I return home after Christmas so I am around to see what happens. In the meanwhile I will continue to study all the remedy suggestions. After that Calc may well be the way to go. I don't feel I want to give a Rx like Pit. A. without knowing the full facts i.e. if there is a pituitary tumour.

Thanks Patricia - just seen your post.

Dear Chris
I tend not to keep a record of my replies on this list so don't have the
exact wording to hand otherwise I would send it on to you privately so that
you can have the benefit of commenting on the original & not have to give a
comment on a comment. If anyone still has the original post and can send it
on to Chris privately, I'd be appreciative.
However, as is evidenced by the interpretations that Julian has shared with
us over the past few days regarding the "various" translations of para#9,
the subtleties of words can confuse at times.
By suggesting that "possibly the spirit has not been fully able to enter the
body" has no spiritual conotation whatsoever. It is a reference only to the
Vital Force taking up residence in a cognisant way.
This perspective comes from having done the proving of Lac-maternum which
gave good approbation to the work done by Tinus Smits regarding the issues
around incarnation that are associated with this Rx.It is well written up in
his book "Inspiring Homeopathy".
All the Lacs have symptoms on this theme of "alternating state" and this
concept of not being quite in the body is an example of that. When anyone is
in a coma or having a seizure the Vital Force is wont to "vaccillate" to use
a word for something that is difficult to convey.
Yes; good prescriptions are done by establishing a hierarchy of symptoms on
which one can repertorise.
However, checking the MM is part of the process leading to making the
prescription and much of the subtleties regarding a Rx (such as Doctrine of
Signatures which is what this aspect of alternating state refers to as
opposed to the more physical sense of alternating state where S/S swap
sides) is what we check up on when doing this. The information contained in
Prisma is an excellent example of this.
Last time I checked "alternating states" was in Generals and contains many
Rx.
Lac-c is in 3rd degree and Lac-h & Lac-m should be similarly included.
This is an observable S/S; not in quite the concrete way that physical S/S
are, but in a more subtle way which the unprejudiced observer is certainly
capable of picking up on or else the rubric would not be in our Repertory.
kind regards
Patricia

Re: Rochelle's CP and PP case
Hi again Chris
comments on your comments below....
No; don't think so in a general sense but in this specific case of
alternating states it is.
However, current homoeopathic case analysis does incorporate DOS and such
techniques are the "Stuff" of most seminar presentations given by European
and some Asian presenters. It's a good adjunctive tool. As Vermeulen says
"look at he "issues" around a case....not just the symptoms".
They're usually confined to MM and used for doing a DD after repertorial
analysis.
