Epilepsy
Dear Sharon
I am so pleased that you have been able to control this woman's seizures.
But from what you are describing I have a feeling that although you are
successful in controlling the seizures, the remedy is not holding. This
means that may be you are slightly off target.
The new traits developing may assist you in zooming in on to the silmilimum.
Do we know what happened one month after the first child to bring about the
seizures?
Was the child vaccinated? Polio?
Did she have a breast infection? If so, what happened? How was she treated?
(Can call for Bell especially if you have blue lines forming on the breast.
And of course Bell has seizures too and is similar to Stram.)
I would be most interested if you shared your lines of thinking and case
analysis on this case.
All the very best and good healing to you.

Re: Epilepsy
The case fit the remedy Stramonium very well. One key symptom, in asking
how she acted in the seizure, her friend (they were riding in a car) said
she dropped her cigarette and "turned to look out the window" Repetory
says turning head to right.
Also, I learned later that she had been a pot smoker and wore black
preferably. As long as she stays on her LM, she has no seizures. I have to
believe this remedy is correct for the time being. I appreciate more
comments from you.

Re: Epilepsy
The only point is that I would have expected the remedy to have been holding
when she has had a second baby on it! Is she anti-doting some how?
Is she still taking pot? (one whiff would do it!)
Is she loquacious?
One of the problems with pot smokers is that pot takes over their life and
can last a long time in their body.
What LM are you at?
I am pleased that the rx is working well for her.

Re: Epilepsy
Let me correct any miscommunication I may have made regarding this patient.
The remedy is holding thru this pregnancy and this delivery. It was prior
to this pregnancy that there were relapses, one due to stopping the remedy
due to her attitude that she didn;t need it any more. At that time she had
only had LM1 nd LM 2. And the 2nd seizure was also due to her stopping the
remedy because she was placed on a prescription for a bladder infection.
Since she resumed her remedies, about one year ago, she has been seizure
free. I believe she is on a LM16, thereabouts.
It is so nice to communicate with you regarding Homeopathy. I live in a
rural area and have no homeopaths nearby to visit with.

Re: Epilepsy
Hi Shannon
I guess a good Neuro specialist should be able to tell whether the abnormalities are due to epilepsy.
I am not sure what liver tests they need to do, but there are tests recommended for people of teg.
All the best

Re: Epilepsy
Hi Soroush,
I think Minutus doesn't let attachments thru? At any rate, it didn't come
thru. Is it possible for you to send as part of a post?
Talked to her again today about the EEGs. She says she's had lots, and
there's a very consistent abnormality, something about "spikes" in the 3 hz
range, something which she says she was told is (if i got this right)
typical of epileptic teens, but not of adults (she is 45-ish). She says no
one has explained, tho, why she has these spikes "all the time", but only
convulses occasionally...

Re: Epilepsy
Dear Shannon
I am plsd she is not on Aspartame!
However, what needs to be cured?
Obviously the epilepsy is something that needs to be attended to and I like
your rubrics, but I think the central disturbance is some where else. Look
closely at what triggered it off (divorce etc??) and how she reacted to it
and how she is STILL affected by it.
The fears are genuine and quite understandable (fear of death?). This cause
great lack of confidence - can one cross the road safely etc. Can one get to
work? What happens if I have a seizure at work and I wet myself? the
questions are un-ending.
If you look at EEG traces of someone during a seizure, it is like strong
currents going through the brain - I'm therefore not surprised that she
feels zonked!
But I think if you cover the M/E aspects, you will find that your remedy
will cover her epilepsy well too.
Good luck

Re: Epilepsy
My reckoning is that the allopaths now little about the workings of the
brain.
My view is make sure that the pt is on the minimum allopathic medication
possible and as few of them as possible.
I know of a case where the lady was being given two tablets because "we
always give these tablets together - they compliment each other". Soon
after she gently weaned herself off one of them, she stabilised (no
homoeopathy).
If you are weaning someone off, must be done slowly. Pref dedicate a nail
file and 1st tablet has one pass of the nail file, the 2nd 2 passes of the
nail file and so on, gradually reducing the content.
Homoeopathically, treat the totality, look closely at the family dynamics
and what was happening during pregnancy and even before it.
The state of the mother during pregnancy (and even pre-pregnancy) may have
an impact too, so you may have to delve carefully!
Good luck

Re: Epilepsy
Someone in one of the groups I belong to gave the name of the enzyme
which the liver fails to produce in the type of epilepsy in which
alcohol causes fits. I've lost the email and would be very grateful to
have the information again.
Thanks!

Re: Epilepsy
Not sure if my memory serves me from past cases, but might this
enzyme be alcohol dehydrogenase?
