Dear All,

I've just stumbled across your wonderful group and would like to
introduce myself. I'm Sarah, aged 30. I live near Cambridge (England)
and have just graduated from 4yrs of study at the Allen College of
Homeopathy in Chelsmford (run by Subrata Banerjea - I see a couple of
you are on his post grad course?) and am just about to launch fully
into practice (eek!).

I am also a HypnoBirthing practitioner (hypnosis for childbirth) and
have a special interest in pregnancy/birth and the treatment of babies
and young children (I also sit on various committees regarding this -
not homeopathic).

I'm off to read all of your back messages now!

Thank you for accepting me as a member. I've been interested in homeopathy for a long time now and have mainly taught myself by reading a lot of David Little's works and Dr Luc and others as well. This is the first time I've joined a forum, mainly out of interest to learn more. Looking forward to being able to participate soon.

Welcome Morgano - I too am a student of David Little & Dr. Luc! You
have had a great exposure then to 5th and 6th edition of the organon
and homeopathy and Cs and LMs in water potency.
There aren't many of us here.................

Where are you in the UK? (or email me directly if don't want to put
it on the list)

Sheri

H Sheri. I'm from Wales, a little place called Cwm, but will be moving shortly. My husband has been offered a job in Bristol, so we'll be moving down there soon.
I've used homeopathy in the past for both me and my husband, mainly for minor ailments, but have always got good results. I was introduced to the teachings of David Little through a friend of mine many, many years ago and I've never looked back. Everything I know comes mainly from him and Dr Luc. I just wish I could understand the periodic table more. My mind goes a blank. I just can't take it in. I notice you're a Homeopath. Do you find you need to know the periodic table to be able to succeed at homeopathy?

No, you don't need to know the periodic table at all! Dr. Luc and David Little have what you need to know, plus the old masters.

But it is interesting.

I actually finished my homeopathic education in England and with Dr. Luc at the end.

Good to see you here!

I'll answer for myself, Morganna ...I am a veterinary homepath, used to work with people before that.
(By the way a quarter of my family originated from Lampeter way back 18 and 19 cent; I am from South Africa where they migrated, and now am in USA.)
I know the periodic table from a chemistry perspective, learned before I discovered homeopathy was to be a major part of my life.
I never use it in homepathy and it would be fair to say my clients consider me a successful homeopath:-)
I also have an international school for advanced veterinary homeopathy, started because my past students (from past tutoring at BIH), asked me to start it as they wanted to learn more from me.

So do not stress if one or other area used by other hjomeopaths foes not "speak" to you. We all have outr own approach, based on the Organon of medicine - essentially the original textbook on homeopathy - (and which does not mention the periodic table.)
My suggestion is that you understand all the PRINCIPLES discussed in the organon. Do not think in terms of rules but in terms of principles.
Applying principles (not rules) enables you to handle new and unexpected occurrences with understanding and confidence. You can make progress fastest and best with that kind of understanding.

Namaste,
Irene

Thanks Irene. that's very comforting to know. I have the Organon or The Art Of Healing by Samuel Hahnemann and usually read one or two aphorisms before going to sleep. I find it sinks in more. I agree with what you say about knowing the principles, after all they form the foundation to homeopathy.

I love the Brecon Beacons. Used to go up there with my parents in the summer months and it was just so beautiful. Haven't been up there for years. I expect it's all changed now.

I notice David Little's The Homoeopathic Compendium is now ready for sale. The price is a bit steep at the moment for me, especially with the move and that, but would love to buy it eventually. If you or anyone has actually bought it, would love to know your opinion of it before I take the plunge. I don't doubt it's worth its value, but would still like to hear the opinions of anyone who has bought it.
