Was Lyc one of the remedies that was tried? That was what came to my mind.
But for the poor tail you need a trauma remedy, perhaps:
EXTREMITIES; GANGRENE; traumatic: arn., lach., sec., sul-ac.
Have there been any changes to things such as mentals, appetite, thirst,
temp prefs, or anything else?

When you say he's a "very stressed dog", what else can you tell us? What's
changed in his appearance, behavior, etc.?
