swallowed a tooth brush bristle

Post by ForumGal »

Dear all,
I swallowed a tooth brush bristle last night and I can feel it caught
just down past the root of the tongue. Doesn't hurt, doesn't interfere, I just
feel it. My question: should I take some silicea to get it out? Or should I
just let it be? Thanks for opinions.

Best,
Margaret in Boston

Have you got anything else in your body that you don't want to be expelled?

It may be just the scratch from the bristle you are feeling. If you think it is still there Silica 6 should help it on its way out.

if it is a scratch, golden seal root powder in tea form ought to help heal

Hi Margaret,

Sounds like something that a nurse with tweezers could remove? If so, that
would be my first choice, personally. (If not, then I dunno, I'd either ask
their advice or wait and see, I suppose.) Remember, silica works to "expel"
simply because "expel" is what the body is *supposed* to do to foreign
objects, anyway. If things are operating well, that ought to happen without
any need for silica. (And sometimes the most efficient remedy to bring on
expulsion is simply the person's "constitutional"/overall remedy.)

Yuk, sympathies and good luck!

Have you tried eating something sticky that might help dislodge it? not
sure what.
