Internal uses of calendula herb?

Can anyone tell me what calendula might be good for, taken internally in
tincture form? (My son is using it for windburned skin, and loves drinking
the [greatly diluted] tincture! The bottle gives dosage directions for
internal use so I gather there's no harm, but I've no idea what it might be
good for, am just curious.)

Here goes:

Calendula Actions: anti-inflammatory, astringent, vulnerary, anti-fungal,
cholagogue, emmenagogue

Indications: Internally it is good for digestive inflammation or ulcers,
gastric or duodenal. Aids the releif of gall bladder problems and general
"indigestion". It has marked antifungal activity and may be used both
internally and externally to combat such infections. It also has a
reputation for helping delayed menstruation and painful periods. It is
generally regarded as a normaliser of the mestrual process.
