Re: Request for your comments?

Post by homoeopathic_helpline »

Last week, all of a sudden, I had great pain and swelling in my teeth
and gums. These were unbearable. I thought of reportorising my
symptoms but pain forced me not to do it and seek a remedy
immediately. I went to my medicines-chest and picked up Kreosotum Q
and Plantago Maj Q. I put 20 drops of each in a little water and put
the mixture in my mouth. I kept it in my mouth for about 5 minutes.
Half of the pain was over. I repeated it after an hour and was
compleyely cured.
Any comments?

Can you share what it was that led you to those remedies?

Nothing, no professional prudence what so ever. Just the intensity of pain and swelling and my whim.

Well...
I guess my comment then would be, sometimes the angels help us out, LOL!
Would be interesting to read up on the remedies and see what the fit was
with the situation. Anyway, what a delightful result!
Cheers,

I think the body knows instinctively what it needs and your knowledge of the
remedies took over - powerful combination!

Well done

No, Shannon. These were not the angles. This was the back-ground knowledge of the remedies. I did not consult any Repertory but I knew the following:-
Kreosotum : "Very rapid decay of teeth with spongy, bleeding gums; teeth dark and crumbly."
Plantago Major : "Has considerable clinical reputation in the treatment of toothache and reflex action of decayed teeth. Pyorrhoea alveolaris. Teeth ache and are sensitive to touch. Swelling of cheeks and teeth; teeth feel too long. Toothache with reflex neuralgia of eyelids. Otalgia with tooth ache ." ( Boericke)
What I want to convey is that reportorising of symptoms is always useful but thorough knowledge of remedies is essential.
Your further comments are requested.

Thank you, I was assuming there was something like that!!! (Because if you
just chose bottles as random, as your first reply seemed to indicate, then
I'd have nothing left but the angel theory!)

Re your last remark, that "repertorizing ... is [and I would say "often"
rather than "always"] useful but thorough knowledge of remedies is
essential" -- I thoroughly agree. If the needed remedy is a "small" one
and/or you choose rubrics that may be related to the *patient*, but not
related to "what is to be cured", or if the remedy is not well represented
in the reps...

What method have you followed in learning remedies?

Question : What method have you followed in learning remedies?
Answer : Reading a lot about them and putting the knowledge to practice.
Is their any other way?

Er...
Obviously I was asking if you had more specific thoughts, but I did not mean
to burden you with a dumb question. Sorry! Yes, I know about the "read and
practice" method.
Cheers,
Shannon
