I have questions on the print "scheme" in the different works. In, Kent, ordinary type is given 1 point, italic 2 points, bold 3 points (top grade). In, Boericke, ordinary type 1 point, italic 2 points. Is this similar for other works? For example in, Phatak there are 3 print types: bold caps, italic, and ordinary. Is this the same concept as in, Kent, with bold being a "top grade" symptom?

The gradings have to do only with the certainty of the symptom in the

they are, generally, not very reliable for prescribing purposes. He
lifted a lot of his gradings from Hering's Guiding Symptoms, but
often did not get the symptom in the right context. Frans Vermeulen
did a whole lecture about this one.
My teachers told me to not consider the grading when repertorizing.
Having a small remedy in 6 rubrics (score 6) is more important than
have a "3" in 3 rubics (score 9).
Another person (I forget who) said, "finding the remedy is not about
mathematics."
Each repertory author had a different set of criteria for determining
value. Take them ALL with a grain of salt.

Re: Point System in Reps & MM
point systems in reps; i understand that it is dependant on the number of
provers that experience a particular symptom so all the books should be pretty
similar. unless they have established a new criteria which hopefully they would
publicise.

Do not trust much Kent. He screwed homeopathy big time. His homeopathic philosophy is good for mental masturbation only.

Who would publicise?
Boenninghausen? Kent? Boericke? Boger? Phatak? All dead.
They all had slightly different criteria. That the grades derive from
provers is a false assumption. Many symptoms, with grades, are based
on clinical confirmations, much of it from Hering. Too much to go
into here, but Kent's work does not seem to conform to what he wrote
about it.

as each book was/is written, the method of prioritising symptoms should be
explained.
that includes past present and future.
