Thrush -recurrent
Re: Thrush -recurrent
Dear Eleana, on a slightly different approach to this - I note that she has
had Hay Fever and you say it is cured. Was this a mild form of hay fever or
not, as this kind of allergic state is usually deep seated and can take a
very long time to cure completely. Has it been suppressed, or did the season
come to an end, or has it been alleviated but not cured? Also this allergic
state can be indicative of the cause of the thrush, i.e. it is all connected
as you would expect.
In what order did her entire sx develop, where does the thrush fit in, and
there is the IUD whether hormonal or not.
Someone said that nat mur hates bread, I would turn this around somewhat -
they desire bread and farinaceous food very much but they are seriously
aggravated by it and then you might get the aversion because of the
aggravation.
Just a few thoughts.
Best, Joy

overweight (1st). Has been on various treatments, including allopathy
(Diflucan, Canesten, Nystatin), acidophillus and diet (Hay diet).
Tried homoeopathic treatment when the above failed to give long term relief.
Has had homoeopathic treatment for the past four years with limited
success for her thrush. Homoeopathy has however cured her hayfever and
PMS!
She came to me because the thrush now comes back monthly - (just after her
ovulation and leading up to her menses) and her previous homoeopath has
given up on her (or she has given up on him!). Patient is chilly, better
for rest, better for creative activities, loves art and books but is not
interested in vigorous exercise. Thirstless, no particular food likes or
dislikes, but has reported an increase in her carb intake especially bread.
Any thoughts hugely welcome!!!

Hello Eleana !
First thing your client needs to realise is that she needs to accept
responsibility for her dis-order. Also with her permission you could
approach the previous homeopath and get some treatment history, so that you
did not have to guess if your client had enough of the previous homeopath or
vice-versa.
A candida diet is a pre requisite for treatment to be of benefit. Also, you
are not pontificating when you advice clients on dietary habits, homeopathy
works miracles when the client is able and willing to accept responsibility,
her body will not engage into healing if she does not respect it.
Eating bread ++ specially wheat is fatal to the success of treatment. You
will just go around in circles. Find out what her blood group is and stick
to the diets for Candida/thrush and Blood Group. Do not give her anymore Rx.
just ask her to stick to the diets and after 2/3 months you will start to
see a clear picture from which to prescribe the Constitutional or whatever
you think is appropriate. Of course Lots of water+++ 3L min. daily. If she
does not suffer from hypertension ask also to take some salt after drinking
water it helps her body/cells to hydrate.
PS.
If you are not giving a Rx. you might need to do placebo
If you require the info on the diets, let me know and I will send a protocol

Re: Thrush -recurrent
hi,
i have found that thrush and candida symptoms respond well to constitutional
treatment but if recurrent only desensitisation and/or balancing diet and the
bacteria status will bring about permanent cure. a top quality pre and pro
biotic (one containing fos, which is the soil that the good bacteria need to
grow in) taken regularly with a big decrease in yeast containing food stuffs is a
good start. bread and wine are the main culprits but an allergy test can be
very helpful.
i have lots more info on the subject and lists of offending foods etc. if
anyone is interested. (i am naturopathic nutritionist as well as homeopath.)

Re: Thrush -recurrent
Are you sure this is thrush? 44 years of age, monthly recurrence of
symptoms, change of diet hasn't helped...sounds like it could be atopic
vaginitis--something going on hormonally that has to be rebalanced. Thrush
or yeast tends to be the "catch all" diagnosis for these symptoms, so its
always being misdiagnosed in women.
A simple gynecological test where samples are tested for candida will rule
out thrush--as well as a few other diseases which produce symptoms like
these. If the cause is really hormonal in origin (as the atopic vaginitis
usually is), that's even more useful information in selecting a remedy for
the case.

Nancy

Thank you for your insight Nancy - however, this patient is ahead of the
game! She has had tests that have confirmed "a proliferation of vaginal
candida"... In some ways I wish it were atopic vaginitis instead!

Re: Thrush -recurrent
Hi Fernando. In November you wrote that you had a protocol for anti-
candida diets suitable for particular blood groups. Can you post the
protocol?
Also, for general information re chronic thrush treatment, I can
recommend from personal experience a combination of:
a) very high potency lactic acid bacteria of multiple strains (e.g.
there is an American brand that has 450 billion bacteria per sachet)-
this helps re-establish healthy gut flora
b)constitutional homoeopathic treatment - for me it was Silicea 200
split dose that finally did the trick
c) avoidance of sugar, yeasts, gluten, alcohol - especially wine and
beer (n.b. dietary restriction is usually not enough on its own to
clear many chronic thrush cases)
d) increased exercise is helpful, but it's important to not over-do
it, especially because when you start the anti-candida diet there can
be increased lethargy as the candida starts to "die-off"!
I feel my recurrent thrush of 25 years long-standing finally cleared
up largely because of the groundwork done by a) + b), whereas c) and
d) are more for general maintenance.
Hope this is helpful.
Best wishes, Jo Shepherd

Re: Thrush -recurrent
Here's what I learned from some recent experiences: It seems that
oxygenators can be helpful too -- yeast thrives in a low-oxygen environment,
and helps to create more of the same for itself. So oxygenation helps to
support the "good guys" (beneficial bacteria and the entire immune system)
and weaken the yeasts. Exercise of course is the "first-thought"
oxygenator, and I read that hyperbaric oxygenation (you sit in some sort of
oxygen tent?) can get rid of a yeast infestation in a treatment or two (??
anyone know more about that??). But short of that, there are:
- Coenzyme Q-10 (Co-Q10), which is wonderful for many things;
- DMG (dimethylglycine), which tastes yummy and seems a very effective
tissue oxygenator -- but be certain to get plenty of antioxidant nutrients,
to keep the "fires" in their appropriate places!
I know there are others (suma? ozone water?) but don't have experience or
specific knowledge about them.
Daily routine of deep breathing (yoga-style) also seems like it would have
to help; also jogging on a mini-tramp? "Getting the blood moving",
oxygenating the tissues, is really important; if she won't do actual
"exercise" (and even if she does, really), some of these might help.
Here's a funnier one: Another thing yeast does is attack the cell walls --
red blood cells, and dunno what else. I was told to eat (gag) half a cup of
good-quality, cold-pressed oils daily, to strengthen the cell walls and help
repel the yeasts. Thought it would gag me, but found I actually *liked* it
(wow) -- on grains, bread (yeast-free, whole grain, and not too much),
salads, smoothies -- any excuse. And y'know, I tried going on and off of
the oils, and actually found I felt much better (in a gradual way) when I
stuck with it. Also the dry skin I'd taken for granted went away.
Over a period of months the yeasts went away, and I don't seem to need the
high amounts of oil any more, tra-la! Nor really any of the handfuls of
vitamins etc. that I'd taken regularly before that. It took some months,
but wow, sure was worth it!
