FIND THE REMEDY'S NAME (111)

Post by Ardavan Shahrdar »

Find the name of the following remedy:

It mostly affects the urinary system and esp bladder.

Dysuria is a prominent feature. The patient suffers
from burning and cutting pain in urethra during
urination. Pain is especially severe at the close of
urination.

Pain in bladder region is usually accompanied by
soreness of testicles and is extended to spermatic
cords. There is a tenderness in bladder region on
pressure.

Nocturnal enuresis is another important aspect of this
remedy. In children, it is accompanied by nightmares
or dreams of crowds of people.

'Retention and dysuria during pregnancy and after
delivery'

The remedy is also useful in paralysis of bladder in
old women.
It is compared with Canth, Berb, Cann-s and Apis.
Sincerely,

Ardavan Shahrdar, MD, DIHom

From the Indian Homeopathic Review 1895:

We have pains in bladder not relieved by micturition, pains and tenderness
in the region of the bladder and testicles, extending up spermatic cord.
Constant desire to urinated, urging to urinate but only few drops passed
each time. Frequent micturition at night.
Urine scanty and high coloured: Urine with great excess of mucus after
standing a short time.
It may be employed in the following conditions. Nocturnal eneuresis. It
is curative even when vesical irritation is marked especially in women and
urine contains blood and mucus. Cystitis with tenderness over the region of
bladder. Dysuria during pregnency and after confinement. Incontinence of
urine in old people. Weakness of bladder, dribbling, in insane people who
will not attend to the bladder.

From Hale:
The scouring-bush has been used from time immemorial as a domestic remedy
for dropsy, suppression of urine, gravel, haematuria, gonorrhoea and gleet.
An infusion of the stalk is make with hot water, and drank ad libitum. It
contains a large amount of mucilaginous fluid, and perhaps soluble Silica,
both of which may aid in its diuretic effects.
Dr. J.S. Marsden, one of our best homoeopathic physicians, writes me that
he has used an infusion of the stalks very successfully in the dysuria of
women, with "extreme and frequent urging to urinate, with severe pain,
especially immediately after the urine is voided. He has also used it in
painful urination with alduminous urine.
It must possess some specific influence over the mucous membrane of the
bladder. Dr. M. gives his infusion in tablespoonful doses.
I would suggest that you try it in the troublesome dysuria of children. I do
not know if the dried stalks are efficient, and I would suggest that if you
wanted to keep the remedy on hand, you should make a strong decoction, and
add one tenth its bulk of good alcohol. This will make a permanent
preparation which will doubtless be efficacious in drop doses of the crude,
or first dilution.
