varicose veins

Post by Maria Bohle »

Hi friends,

Another theoretical question, as this is not client related, but
observation related.

I belong to an exercise group (all women), women are wearing shorts and
I see lots and lots of varicose veins, dark veins in various patterns all
over their legs. Now, usually in my practice, people do not come in
shorts so I have not observed this so much in clients.

What strategies do we have for these veins? And how many of you have
seen them dissapear under good homeopathic treatment? Nutritional
treatment? Is this something you would repertorize into a case if not
mentioned by the client? Is this something that you would ask about? I
know people who have had them stripped (not good, I know, and I do have a
new client with ulcers due to the vein stripping she had done many, many
years ago.)

Perhaps because I am in the USA, we have a lot of Tubercular people, or
perhaps it is the need to exercise or > for exercise that brings the
varicose veins in large numbers to the exercise group.

What have you seen? How do you feel about this.

Thanks, Maria

Yes, Dr. Maria, you shall do well if you reportorize each case and
then prescribe a remedy on the basis of 'totality of symptoms'.
I have had the opportunity of treating quite a few cases of varicose
veins. In finding out the right remedy, the gender of the patient,
age, side of the veins (left or right), location (upper or lower),
color of veins, pain and burning etc have always been a few of the
deciding symptoms.
Light physical exercise and non-fattening diet also help a lot. I
developed a 'Diet Chart'. I use it with great success.
Pulsatilla in 30C potency has also been used with success as head of
general remedies and Sulphur in mid-high potency as intercurrent
remedy.

My understanding is that varicose veins cannot be eliminated, but they certainly can be managed with homeopathy. The choice of remedy depends, as always, on the symptoms. In Kerala, they were treating with high potency Fluoric acid or Carduus m.t.
