Dear all,
For anyone who is interrogating on ATKINS diet, particularly facing the
question of eating a lot of meat for people who don't like meat at all, I
strongly recommend the very impressive dietary advise of Michel Montignac
(Eat Yourself Slim and Stay Slim). He has the best explanation I have ever
seen regarding why REFINED carbohydrates make us fat and how to change our
eating habits. His GLYCAEMIC INDEX and theory has to be studied in schools
in my opinion.
No, as a none meat eater I have to say that the answer is not eating meat to
death but avoiding as much as possible ALL refined carbohydrates and
consuming a lot more FIBRE in our diet which is the key. Indeed for the ones
who enjoy eating meat as well, why not, but alongside high fibre food.
Best Regards,
Suzanne

Thanks for mentioning Montignac's book--it is a very good source of
information on choosing good quality foods and the best type of
carbohydrates to eat. I think he addresses the vegetarian question well;
and he has a great deal in common with the Atkins' diet (the real Atkins
diet, not the one people think means eating tons of meat and no veggies....)
