Proteus associated remedies?
I'm having trouble finding parts of my bowel nosode information. Can
someone send me a list of remedies associated with Proteus? I'm told that
the end pages of Allens Key Notes gives a list of DD remedies, but my
computer version of Allen's does not seem to include these pages... Are
there more besides Tub., Sulphur and Psorinum?
Thank you!

Re: Proteus associated remedies?
The Proteus group = Mur ac; Am-mur; Aurum mur; Apis; Bar mur; Borax; Conium;
Cuprum met; Calc Mur; Ferrum mur; Ignatia; Kali mur; Mag mur; Natrum mur;
secale - this is from "A Treatise on Bowel Nosodes" by Y. R. Agrawal - a gem
of a book.
Proteus has a relationship with disturbances of the chloride metabolism -
hence all the muriacticums.

Re: Proteus associated remedies?
Thanks, Joy!
So sepia isn't in the group (or nux-v), but my mom's situation seems so well
covered by both sep. and proteus -- and it seemed maybe especially by
proteus. And so many of her problems do seem so, um, "bowel oriented", tho
I couldn't make a very tight defense of that... Would it be wrong to give
proteus as a precursor to starting her on sepia? (Actually, I hope she has
already started sepia, but would like to give proteus too...) And the
description of proteus symptoms seems so "nux-y", why isn't nux in the group
too...

Re: Proteus associated remedies?
Why is it that some people seem to think that bowel nosodes are for bowel
problems!!!
Like many of the nosodes they are chiefly used when the picture perhaps
isn't clear enough for a single remedy or where there is a block to the case
(allopathic drugs for example), or when the indicated rx fails to act.
Sepia is Bacillus No. 10 + Morgan (Bach) + Morgan-Pure (Paterson) + Faecalis
(Bach). It might be in other groups - you will have to check on one of the
computer reps/MM's.
In my opinion, yes it would be wrong to start the case with a bowel nosode
when there are other remedies indicated.
Is she violent with outbursts of emotions, does she get hysterical, is she
tense and irritable, is she Ignatia like - this is Proteus (+ a lot of other
sx as well)
One remedy at a time Shannon (and I am shouting this
) - wait and see, be
patient.

simply a temperament type, or does it refer to the organ?
Thanks agin...

Re: Proteus associated remedies?
I think it is to do with when the parathyroids are absent, have been removed
surgically etc and this sets up a spasmodic dysphonia and other spasmodic
bronchial sx.

Re: Proteus associated remedies?
I can't offer what exactly is meant by 'spasmodic parathyroidian', but
parathyroid glands are essential for life. If they are removed, you
will die w/in a few days from hypocalcemic tetany.

Re: Proteus associated remedies?
Brutal allopathic treatment of hyperparathyroidism is surgical removal of
nearly all the parathyroid glands - often 3.5 out of 4 - backed up then by
equally brutal drugs.
It is happening.

Re: Proteus associated remedies?
Thanks Joie,
Someone else suggested that may be what it referred to.
Which is also puzzling -- how could the remedy help someone who was dying
due to removal of an essential organ????
Curious...
Thanks,
