I would consider Euphoratum Perfoliatum. It can have sore joints and
eyes.
Other acute remedies I use from time to time are phytolacca ,if glands,
Merc Sol if hot and cold , sweaty, mouth wet, dirty throat, Lachesis if
worse on wakening, Bapt,very ill and sore and coated brown tongue and
nausea and scattered. Rhus Tox if very restless and Bryonia if wishes to
lie very still.
It is a task to sort out which remedy. I suppose one does not always need
to treat if a few days rest is all that is needed, Jean

The latest is that he had a fever at midday and then slept until 4pm and felt much better. I spoke to him at 6 and he said he was tired again and going back to bed. I suggested that if his body wants rest he should give in to it. His throat is not feeling as "thick" and he is now drinking lots of cold water and has had another ice cream!! I said I would phone him tomorrow. Wife has now decided the white spot is still there on the left tonsil after all. What I didn't say was that the family has just returned from abroad so it could be something that they have picked up. I actually gave a "naughty combo Rx" (as I call them!!) of Ars. I/ Gels/Eupat. I have known Gels cause someone with flu to sleep for 2 days after I gave a 30 C so maybethat is the bit that is working especially as he is now drinking more. Dr Ramakrishnan calls Ars I homeopapathic penicillin and the Eupat was for the joint ache. I also made up a herbal gargle which he feels has helped.
