More rubric help please.
A patient whose family lives abroad. Her brother keeps phoning and telling her of fighting between siblings over a business they have, and that one is involved with drugs but the upset patient says to me "I can't do anything . I don't want to get involved" .
Any ideas on rubrics other than the obvious "ailments from bad news." I am looking for the doesn't want to get involved bit.
Regards

My reaction to this seems different.... She is the one who would know
whether the family members would listen to her, and if they won't, it would
be lose/lose to try. Adult family members living abroad, who have not asked
for her input, well...
I'd look at how she's being affected by the situation, whether the effects
of it are affecting the rest of her life, and perhaps also at whether the
"don't want to get involved" is something that shows up also in situations
where she *should* be doing something?
Hope this doesn't sound totally cold, but I think family dynamics can be a
tricky thing. Rochelle, is she seeing you to help with her own upset over
the situation, or something else?

Re: More rubric help please.
Hi Rochelle,
Obviously the question is why the reluctance to get involved. -- doesn't like quarrels; doesn't wish to take sides and offend either party etc. And then why does the patient not want to upset them? Is it out of timidity for and domination by them? Is the patient dependant on them both and fear losing out by supporting one or the other, is it because there is disapproval of the drug side but doesn't want to raise that issue? Here are some rubrics which cover certain options:
Mind; AILMENTS from; discords between; relatives, friends (SRI-17) (12) : lac-eq., nat-m., ars., graph., hep., lach., mag-m., merc., nit-ac., nux-v., sulph., tax-br.
Mind; AILMENTS from; discords between; chief and subordinates (SRI-17) (8) : lyc., graph., mag-m., merc., nat-m., nit-ac., nux-v., sulph.
Mind; AILMENTS from; friendship, deceived (SRI-18) (8) : aur., ign., mag-c., mag-m., nux-v., ph-ac., sil., sulph.
Mind; AILMENTS from; quarrels (SRI-22) (9) : berb., chion., cic., germ., glon., hydrog., kali-chl., spig., thuj.

Paul

Re: More rubric help please.
Hi Shannon,
She first started seeing me about an acute flu (Aconite + Eupat perf)and then came for a constitutional treatment about her acne which is a lot better ( Bell) and the next thing to come up was how she felt she could kill her child because he was running rings around her. She was getting really angry.(Nux which she did really well on)Since then she has kept up seeing me once a month and I haven't really given her much other than Bach Flower Rx (my placebo!!). I saw her again tonight and the Ignatia seems to be holding well. I also use EFT tapping with emotional problems. She translates the "set up" into Spanish before tapping. She is from Peru. She is basically trying to set up a life for herself and her son in UK and should get an English passport next year as she as been able to get her visa extended. Her son's dad , who she is separated from lives in UK.She has just moved in with a very nice lad and is helping with the mortgage on their house.

Have just found in Complete
AILMENTS from disappointment, deception new (1)
3 IGN
This was what she was saying. It was to do with the fact that her brother had deceived her re the business. This must have been why the Ign. 200 worked so well!!!
