I have a homeopath colleague who is going to live in the USA, can any one on that side of the Atlantic (I am in the UK), let me know which states it is legal to practice homepathy in and which it is illegal in?

Re: Homeopathy in the USA
Hi Terry,
I don't think it's technically "legal" anywhere in the US, in that we are
considered to be unregulated and unlicensed (tho the various US licensing
bodies are hoping to change that in time). It's sort of a gray area, and
some states apparently are more friendly to it (and alternative stuff in
general) than others. Here's my scanty experience:
California, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota all have numerous homepaths (but
*not* "too many"!!!!), and seem to practice freely.
*Anywhere* in the US, anyone who might conceivably be "accused of practicing
medicine without a license" needs to be aware of the issues (!!), and take
necessary steps -- e.g. making sure prospective patients know whether you
are or are not a licensed medical doctor, and if not, that you cannot
diagnose or treat disease, and if they have a medical condition it is their
responsibility to make sure they are getting appropriate medical care. Some
h'ths here have new pts sign waiver to that effect. Usually problems don't
arise.
Is s/he looking toward any particular state or area of the country?
